In the cool foggy mist
rolling in from the sea,
I write in the sand
a story of love.


Our souls touched
when we met
and I knew that you
were the missing piece
of my heart.


For every beautiful sunset
that disappeared into the sea
was another night together
in sweet harmony.


Like a seagull in flight
you longed to soar free,
Did I love you enough
to let go,
to find that your dreams
were here all the time.


I could barely see your ship
through my tears
as you sailed from the harbor
to new destinations without me.


Whispering winds
lift my spirit
to new heights,
I close my eyes and
I am once again with you.
