Storyline (CONTAINS SPOILERS) Below is a summary of the storyline I've seen. If you haven't seen the series yet & don't want to be spoiled, skip this section. If you want to know the story & want to see how I viewed it, read on. The show breaks up into five mini-episodes for each OVA as periods. Each talks about an adventure of Sato & how he ends up getting into to some ecchi related troubles with his female classmates by accident. Either it be in school or outside, he gets some punishment that he never asked for. |

My Personal Review Today in Class 5-2 is really funny. A lot of the jokes is really ecchi based, so don't expect some kiddish jokes because you won't find any here. The OVA isn't suitable for a young audience at all. If you love ecchi jokes with some loli on the side, you'll love this OVA. Animation The character designs aren't what you expect fifth grades to look like. Loli-sized with adult looking faces. It looks a bit weird to see fifth graders like that, especially the girls where they look like they have lipstick on. There are times where Sato will have his face changed into a more serious adult looking one. Usually it occurs when he's shocked or getting some serious pain. Also, the anime is quite detail about the ecchi parts. The bony back of a young girl, her collarbone, & their small breasts that drives Sato wild. The backgrounds are okay. Not a lot of details, but it's quite colourful for an OVA. The colours are pretty bold & bright. Almost to the point that I had the impression of watching a kid's show. There are some dullness here & there to prevent the characters & the background from clash from one another.. In terms of the animation movement, it's a mixture. Sometimes the movements are realistic & sometimes the movements are not normal due to the silly jokes. But they are quite smooth with hardly choppy frames found. Not too surprisingly, the animation slows down a bit for the ecchi moments. Sound The sound effects are really on the silly side because of the jokes. Not much serious sounds really. The seiyuus here are okay for some & so-so for the rest. Sato's voice sometimes doesn't match his sudden change in facial features. It made me feel that it was out of place really. The music really helps create the mood well. It's quite catchy & cute. It gives the impression of watching a show with elementary school students indeed. Plus, some of the music really establish those ecchi scenes. Very well done here. Story No main storyline here. Just a bunch of short stories to make you laugh. All the jokes & the abuse that Sato takes really puts a smile on your face. I actually found myself laughing out loud a lot. However, some of the jokes may not be suitable for some due to the ages the kids are & the large amount of sexual references used. Overall Conclusion Today in Class 5-2 is full of laughs. I recommend watching this since it is short & doesn't have a storyline to follow. However, if you don't like the idea of loli doing sexual references, I would advise in staying away from this. This is actually debatable when you think about it. Today in Class 5-2 gets a nine out of ten in its report card. Although it lacks a proper storyline, the jokes makes up for it. However, the appearance of the fifth grades can be a little creepy since they look more like teenagers instead. As mentioned before, this may not be for everyone due to the amount of ecchi involved on young children. |
