School Rumble OVA

School Rumble OVA is basically an add-on episodes for fan to enjoy.  Nothing new is really added here.

Storyline (CONTAINS SPOILERS)

Below is a summary of the storyline I've seen.  This section does contain some spoilers.  If you haven't seen the series yet & don't want to be spoiled, skip this section.  If you want to know the story & want to see how I viewed it, read on.

The OVA is basically extra episodes to the TV series.  Most of the episodes here are stick in between some of the TV episodes & do not continue on from where the TV series left off.  Like the TV series, there is no storyline here as well.

My Personal Review

School Rumble OVA is more episodes added to the TV series with most of it episodes stick in between the TV episodes.  Fans of School Rumble should watch this & get a kick out of it.

Animation

Everything here is the same as the TV series.  No improvement or loss of quality here.  Some new clips in the opening & ending theme scenes, so it might be worth it to watch them.

Sound

Same as the TV series.  With the exception of episode one's ending song, all the opening & ending theme songs are the same as the TV series.  The OVA's first episode uses one of Harima's insert songs that we played in the TV series.

Story

Like the TV series, the OVA splits it's episodes into three parts.  None of them are linked to one another in the OVA.  It's just new stuff that fills in "holes" in the TV series.  So, it's basically stuff that happen but was never seen.

Overall Conclusion

School Rumble OVA is just bring more hype to it's image.  Also, it's preparing itself for the upcoming School Rumble 2 (aka School Rumble Nigakii) that's schedule to air in 2006.  The end of episode two of the OVA mentions about it.  I highly recommend watching this if you have seen the TV series.  If you have seen the TV series, I would suggest watching that first to get an idea of what's happening.  Even if you don't watch it first, I feel that you will still get a laugh out of it.

I give School Rumble OVA an eight out of ten on its report card.  Like the TV series, it's full of laughs for you to sit down & watch.  The lost points come from it's lack of a true storyline again.  The extra loss this time is because how the mini episodes jump around.  Because the TV series was ended a year ago from when the OVA was released, people may not remember some of the episodes from the TV series & may need to do some refreshing.
