Storyline (CONTAINS SPOILERS)

Below is a summary of the storyline I've seen.  This section does contain some spoilers.  If you haven't seen the series yet & don't want to be spoiled, skip this section.  If you want to know the story & want to see how I viewed it, read on.

After prison break, Mister gathers all the necessary resources to fulfill Blue's request which involve equipment, passageways, & people.  Marciano chases after Mister because she has some interest in Blue's request & sends her twelve android assassins to capture him alive.  Angelica chases Mister since she's so devoted in capturing for a long time for his past chain of crimes.  After gathering all the information & resources needed, Mister reveals what Blue's request.

Blue's request is to break into the universe's most secured bank vault.  It was done by Blue before as he went undercover & designed the vault with the bank's design team.  Using video captures from his secret eye, he shows the breakdown on how it was made & how to break it.  The bank is located in the now wasted planet called Graceland that is scheduled to be blow up with a Photon Bomb due to military & political decisions.  Now, Mister & his crew need to race against time to complete Blue's request.  Through their difficult journey, Marciano manages to discover what the request is when she kidnaps Franka in the story.

After Franka gets released & both groups racing to get Blue's treasure, talks are being made to stop the nuke.  As the talks were about to end in peace, a rebel group breaks the talks in confusion thinking the nuke will blow Graceland..  This breaks out into a war as there is no one to stop the nuke which is buried inside the planet since the people that know about it are dead.  Plus, the controls to stop it are destroyed.  With Marciano already searching Graceland for the vault, Mister & company race against time to get to the vault before the planet blows up.  Taking Franka with him, Mister reveals to her in the vault that the prize in there is for Franka as it is mainly memories of Blue & Franka together when she was a young child.

Next, the final showdown occurs when Graceland is about to blow & Marciano & Mister are fighting against each other.  Due to interference, the fight stops with both parties leaving the scene.  As the Coyote crew leave, Angelica contacts Mister to tell him where the Photon Bomb is located & how to stop it.  As a result, Mister & his team manages to stop the nuke & Mister defeating Marciano on the way out.  The show ends with the Coyote crew going on to their next adventure.

My Personal Review

Coyote Ragtime Show has an unique name that fits well with the story's plot.  It's got guns, action, & a lot of cute androids on the side.   If you like some space action, this is a great show to watch.

Animation

The character designs are not too bad.  The Twelve Sisters are no doubt designed cute & sexy with their dresses.  The male characters are drawn pretty well too.  Although it's plain & bland, it fits their images well.  But you would notice that the faces are either drawn long or chubby.  Also, the female characters look a bit more different from anime girls in terms of body proportions such as their legs.  However, the faces look very weird when you see them from a far distance or drawn small.  It looks weird at times.  Plus, Angelica's lips look a bit too thick with her lipstick.

The spaceships are not full 3D CGs.  It's not a bad thing really as the ships tend to do a lot of movement which can make the 3D CGs look bad at times.  But when they are in 3D, it fits nicely with the background as they blend it well without looking like misplaced toys.

The backgrounds are pretty blurry at times.  It's probably because to show the wear & ages of the buildings & interior of the places.  It's not bad really.

The colours are quite dull & dark.  There are some bright colour tones used here, but it's usually used for the day & bright scenes.  Not much colour toning & shadowing for the girls.  It's mostly for the men & the Twelve Sisters for some reason.  Probably because the show focuses on them more.

Sound

The sound effect are mainly on the realistic side.  There's hardly any silly sounds found in the show unless it's for the comedy scenes.  Not all the sounds are crisp though.  There is some amount of fuzzes in the loud booms.

The seiyuus for this show is ok.  The males are actually better than the females here.  The Twelve Sisters have that visual appeal, but some of their voices aren't too good.  It either didn't fir their image or it was too high toned.

The music is ok, but not memorable.  It's got that ragtime jazz feel to it, which fits the show's image & title well.

Story

The show doesn't lose it's point of the story as it flows very nicely.  It sticks to the plot with little or hardly any detours.  No side stories that overpowers the main plot.  However, the character development side is weak because of this.  There is very little room to see the characters develop such as Franca becoming a coyote.  Relationships & bonds seem to appear & fit together too well.  It's like going from point A to point B without the challenges or difficulties involved.

Overall Conclusion

Coyote Ragtime Show is for all you space junkies out there that like some space shooting action.  If you like girls as well, that's more reason to watch it.  I recommend putting this on your anime to watch list if you like sci-fi action.

Coyote Ragtime Show steals an eight out of ten from me.  The story is fill with action & suspense.  It takes no time to delay the main plot & gets to the point.  However, it may seem a little too fast pace for some as the character development is hardly noticed here.  If you are looking for an anime show with character development as well, this one isn't going to suit you.
