Information of Anime The time period of this series is where Sendo Kazuki has enter university, but still is active in the doujinshi community. This OVA is basically a bunch of side stories for each episode. This series is based on the Dreamcast Comic Party game where a new character, Mikage Subaru, is in the series. |

Storyline (CONTAINS SPOILERS) Below is a summary of the storyline. This section does contain some spoilers. If you haven't seen the series yet & don't want to be spoiled, skip this section. If you want to know the story & want to see how I viewed it, read on. As mentioned above, this is basically a bunch of side stories put together. There is no direct link to each other. In the first episode, it talks about Kazuki helping Hasebe Aya improve her selling skills for her doujinshi at ComiPa. The second episode is about Ooba Emi not telling Kazuki about her failing her tests & taking summer school in order for Kazuki to keep his promise of taking her to the beach if she passes. The third episode is about a baseball match between Emi & Inagawa Yu to compete for the last table space for ComiPa. The final episode is about Makimura Minami unknowingly helping Sakurai Asahi, who is a idol struggling to make a "love story" for the first time, by asking Kazuki to go out on a date with her. Of course, there are a lot of comedy scenes to make the episodes funny. And the OVA doesn't really touch a lot on Kazuki's doujinshi situation. |

My Personal Review Comic Party Revolution is a nice OVA to enjoy, even if you haven't seen Comic Party before this. Initially, this was a two episode OVA until it got expanded into four. There is a Comic Party Revolution TV series that came out this year & the first four episodes of that series is the same as the OVA with some scenes cut out to fit the TV slot time. Animation The drawings are pretty good in my opinion. It seems a bit different from the first TV series & more colourful too. The backgrounds were colourful that it clashed with the characters a bit. Overall, I felt it was above average. Sound The sound effect were okay as most of them were kind of cute. For example, the bullets being shot out of the air gun had cute popping sounds. For the background music, it fitted the scenes well. It created the mood pretty solid. The voice actors here are the same as previous Comic Party series. No changes in the voices which was good in most cases if you didn't like some of the voices from the past series. Story Although it was mainly side stories, Comic Party Revolution did a nice job in telling them. It's mainly to watch & enjoy really. No worries about what the storyline is. They were funny & enjoyable. Overall Conclusion Comic Party Revolution was an average series with no main storyline. You probably don't need to watch Comic Party to understand this series even though this takes place a year later. The series was fun to watch, but it won't leave a memory in your head about its short stories. Comic Party Revolution gets a 7.5 from me. It's mainly because it's a series with no major storyline & was made to watch for pure enjoyment. This series probably was meant to gain your interest in preparation for the TV series. |
