Storyline (CONTAINS SPOILERS) Below is a summary of the storyline I've seen. If you haven't seen the series yet & don't want to be spoiled, skip this section. If you want to know the story & want to see how I viewed it, read on. The treasure hunt is located in the sea when Eri finds info from Karen Minamino's butterfly mark on her breast. During the hunt, their cruise ship gets raided by their teacher & club adviser Risako Nagisa who tries to kidnap Karen. Refusing to go back, Eri continues to push forward for the treasure due to its risky adventure. When the club reaches an island & party, things get more worse as the attacks continue. Although Aika & company manages to defeat Risako & her group, Karen's lost memories would slowly return to her. She believes the key to her past lies in the bottom of the ocean where the club are hunting the treasure at. Aika, Eri, & Karen would go to the bottom of the ocean to find this treasure. What they found is an underground airport-like base. The truth about Karen is finally revealed as she was part of an experiment used to make clones as a number of them attack Aika & Eri. Apparently it was said that a meteorite hit Earth with a life form in it. That life form merge with a human entry which slowed down aging, but increased mental intelligence. It is thought that Karen might be this being even though she was created in the base & has no memories of the past. The story ends with the trio going back to the surface & life is back to what it was before. The mission to find Karen's smile is now complete. |

My Personal Review AIKa R-16 - Virgin Mission - was something I just wanted to watch for fun. Plus, I wanted to see some new anime as well during the time. But, I got more than I bargained for with the large number of panties in this anime. Animation The character designs aren't too bad. Even though they are quite plain, the girls look pretty good. What makes them more appealling is the number of panties shots shown in many strange positions. When the girls get knocked out, they are shown in very detail sex-like positions which I found to be weird. As for the fashion, it's ok. Nothing too great about them. The backgrounds aren't very detailed since your focus is on panties. They are plain with no special designs or features to them. Basically simple designs. In terms of the animation movement, it's quite flowing & natural. There are quite a lot of those silly & unreal movements. But most of the work is again on the panites. I can't image how people get knocked out into those positions. Spread legs, ass sticking in the air, etc. The animators really put more attention into these areas. Sound The sound effects have a mixture of realistic & silly. They are pretty clear & played on cue. Nicely done here. The seiyuus here are ok. I felt Eri is a bit over the top in her role. Over than that, the characters are played out pretty well. The music is mainly pop with some slight rock in some parts. I didn't really pay attention to the music since they sounded more like sound effects mixed together to me. Story The story is finding the treasure in the sea from the info from Karen's butterfly mark. The main focus is Karen since she has no memories of her past.. But the action sequence is quite exciting & I don't mean the panty shots. I'm impressed on how much work the artists did in find the best knocked out positions to make it sexual. But the story itself was something that I didn't expect. A fantasy element. I thought it was going to be more down to earth stuff instead. As for the ending, it was a bit weird to me. Although everything wraps up nicely, I'm surprised that the enemy is now in good terms with the good girls. Plus, the fact about Karen is still up in the air as a bit of it is solved. Probably just enough to get it complete. By the way, the "next episode" bit about physical exams isn't true. It's just to throw you off. Overall Conclusion AIKa R-16 - Virgin Mission - is for all you panty lovers out there that like their girls with action. The Aika series is pretty much famous for panty shots in weird situations. If the story fails to do well, these undergarments will have you liking the show. If you don't like panties shown in almost every scene, skip this. If you are a fan of the Aika series, I don't think you will be missing this. AIKa R-16 - Virgin Mission - scores a 6.5/10. The action is great & beautifully done. But the amount of panty shots may be a little overboard for some. For the story, it's a bit far-fetched. Also, I found the ending to be incomplete. But this is a prequel so all the answers are probably in the first AIKa OVA. I don't know since I never seen it. |
