Storyline (CONTAINS SPOILERS) Below is a summary of the storyline I've seen. This section does contain some spoilers. If you haven't seen the series yet & don't want to be spoiled, skip this section. If you want to know the story & want to see how I viewed it, read on. The Angel Eater starts consuming Belldandy, Urd, & Peroth angels which puts the three goddesses into shocked states. Hild is behind the attack & Lind, Keiichi, & Skuld try to take the angels back. Although Lind lost her angel to the Angel Eater, she has another one which she gives to Keiichi for an attack plan. Lind's angels are one-winged angels. Surprisingly, Keiichi is able to control the angel & command them to attack. At the same time, Skuld is now able to summon her own angel. Although Belldandy was planted with a demon angel which would later change to an angel, she & Lind manage to send the Angel Eater back to Heaven after Lind recovers her other angel & gets the one back from Keiichi. The story ends with Lind returning to Heaven as she understands how to smile naturally & makes Keichii her lifelong friend. |

My Personal Review Ah! My Goddess: Takakau Tsubasa was something that I didn't know that existed. I only knew about it when it started airing. Animation The same as the TV shows. Not much of a difference. Keichii's still sports that cleaner hairstyle that was shown in the last TV specials. It shows that time has passed a lot if you are following & comparing it to the manga's timeline. The colours are still very bright here. I have no idea why it's that bright. It doesn't have a lot of colour tones because of this as the tones are too close & similar to each other. In terms of the animation movement, the flow was quite nice & natural. Nothing too weird. Sound The same as the TV shows. The sound effects were kind of muffled a bit when loud sounds are cued. Other than that, it was pretty good & realistic. Also, the silly sounds can be found here as well. The voice actors are good as they are the same ones from the TV shows again. So, no changes here. Clear with the volume level set well. The music is the same as the TV shows with some new songs in the soundtrack it seems. The opening themes & ending themes are now changed to Jukai; giving the series a somewhat new sound. Story The specials focuses more on Lind. The character development is on her from being a emotionless fighter to someone that can smile naturally. This is kind of a welcoming change of pace as we don't just focus on the ongoing love struggle between Belldandy & Keiichi. Also, this show has more action than any of the other shows combined. As for the ending, it's okay for a short TV special. Everything ties up with nothing left behind. Although the pace of the show was little fast, it manages to leave hardly any loose ends. Overall Conclusion Ah! My Goddess: Takakau Tsubasa isn't a bad show. We focus something outside of the Keiichi & Belldandy love relationship & get something with a lot of action. Fighting action. Not a bad special to watch if you are a fan of the series. Ah! My Goddess: Takakau Tsubasa gets an 8/10. It's got action & less love. Plus, it focused more on the other character Lind & anime viewers learn more about this character which is a benefit for people that haven't follow the manga. |
