Storyline (CONTAINS SPOILERS) Below is a summary of the storyline I've seen. This section does contain some spoilers. If you haven't seen the series yet & don't want to be spoiled, skip this section. If you want to know the story & want to see how I viewed it, read on. We continue to see the relationship between Belldandy & Keiichi continue to grow. At this point, it's very stable & have develop a love relationship. The 2 of them will do anything for each other. However, hardships appear along the way after 6 episodes or so. All this is due to some jealousy from Belldandy when girls approach Keiichi. These include situations such as Peorth, a goddess who came down from heaven to grant a wish to Keiichi after he mistakenly again calls heaven. We see more of Belldandy's jealously here. Later on, the show moves on to Urd & Skuld's past & current love lives. It goes on a big cycle until we hit the Hild arc. In the Hild arc, we see how Hild, the demon ruler & mother of Urd, tries to make Belldandy show her true feelings by doing things to Keiichi. Mainly making Belldandy jealous & breaking her relationship with Keiichi. The show ends when Hild fails after travelling through time to make Keiichi fall for her in his high school years as the three goddess prevent her plans. |

My Personal Review Ah! My Goddess: Sorezore no Tsubasa is a direct continuation of the TV series Ah! My Goddess. There are some new characters in this season & some characters like Peorth are having more air time now. Animation The same as the TV show but somewhat better. The character designs seem to have improved a bit. But for some strange reason, Belldandy looks much better now. I'm assume they fixed up that eye problem she had in the past. Sometimes it's big, sometime it's small. This time, it seems the animators really took the time to do it right. Keiichi's design has improved a bit, but still retains that weird look. The characters don't seem to have aged much in this show. The colours are still very bright here. I have no idea why it's that bright. It doesn't have a lot of colour tones because of this as the tones are too close & similar to each other. In terms of the animation movement, the flow was quite nice & natural. Nothing too weird at this point. What's also interesting is how the show's format is kept the same. Same title & intermission templates as season 1. Sound The same as the TV show again. The sound effects were kind of muffled a bit when loud sounds are cued. Other than that, it was pretty good & realistic. Also, the silly sounds can be found here as well. The voice actors are good as they are the same ones from the TV show again. So, no changes here. Clear with the volume level set well. The music is the same as the TV show & nothing new seems to been added with the exception of the opening & ending theme songs. I don't think I've heard any new songs in this show. Story So far, all I got is how Keiichi & Belldandy's relationship has developed further from season 1. You can see the bonds being strong, regardless of the contract. Also, Belldandy is determined to be with Keiichi & seems to care less about the contract as she's willing to be with him on her own free will. But things gets interesting after 6 episodes or so as girls start making moves on Keiichi. And 1 of them happens to be Peorth. Currently, I'm thinking she's the new threat between Belldandy & Keiichi, but it seems she's there for comedy purposes almost. However, after the Peorth arc, the show shifts into Urd & Skuld's love lives. Seeing this, I'm not sure what the show was trying to achieve as I started to see them as fillers to the show. It was the Hild arc that really drove the main storyline. But it failed to do a lot really as it was short & didn't really explain the situation well. The ending of the show was sudden to me & left me saying, "That's it?!" Overall Conclusion Ah! My Goddess: Sorezore no Tsubasa seems to be a bit better than the 1st season at the start. However, the episodes don't really reflect much on the plot. It's been showing how the relationship between Keiichi & Belldandy seem to be unbreakable until the Hild arc. I was a bit disappointed in the show as it ended at 22 episodes in a sudden way. If you are a fan of Ah! My Goddess, you should watch this. If you haven't seen the 1st season , I would strongly advise you to watch that 1st or else you would be lost. By the way, watching the OVA version won't help since the storylines aren't the same. Ah! My Goddess: Sorezore no Tsubasa gets a 7/10. There isn't a solid plot in the show as the commercial of the show that I saw didn't really make it worthwhile. Although it did promise about a force that was trying to break Belldandy & Keiichi apart, it wasn't very strong. & I was only being drawn in by it's love comedy elements at the moment. Also, the relationship between Keiichi & Belldandy is better to watch as there isn't much of Keiichi wussing out or not making a bold move on Belldandy. But it really spoils it a bit when you get to the Hild arc & thinks seem to go back to square one. I'm starting to think the first season is better than this one in terms of the story. |
