OS Idol Winchan Complete Fan Book - Sky Blue -
This is a CD that comes with the OS Idol Winchan Fan Book. Winchan is from Tech Win, a monthly Japanese magazine that talks about Microsoft's Windows operating system. The creator who made her is Yoshizaki Mine, the same person that later did the OS-tans. I think the OS-tans replaced Winchan. The fan book that the CD comes with is basically illustrations of Winchan. This fan book was released on December 30, 2000 & is out of print.
The CD contains all the past CD inserts that came with Tech Win, so it's basically a collection disc. It has contents from October 1998 to December 2001. They are some months missing in between. I assume that the data was lost in the company or there wasn't any bonus CDs in those past issues. They contain humourous episodes of Winchan. Depending on the year, the contents & layouts changes in the program. Instead of only funny Winchan episodes, computer goodies were added. They include wallpapers, screensavers, mascots, mini-games, & other miscellaneous computer programs such as a CD player & paint program. They are also printouts such as CD covers & artworks. They are some Christmas themed items as well. Also, there are interview corners with Yui Horie, the seiyuu that did Winchan's voice. Included is a program called VoiceFan where you get use Winchan's voice to customize the sounds of your computer.
In order to get the programs, you need to install each of them one by one. This also includes the episodes. Personally, it's better to install the episodes since all the computers can be run there based on the month they were released. All the programs & episodes will be in subfolders based on the months they were released on. You need a Japanese version of Windows or set your Windows to Japanese to read the Japanese text properly. However, you can get files & watch the episodes from the disc directly with a lot of searching in the CD. But some programs will require to be run in Japanese in order for them to work properly. The CD requires DirectX 8.1 to work some of the programs, Adore Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 to read the documents, & Windows Media Player 7.1 to view the technology reports. Luckily, these programs are available on the CD if you don't have them.
I only put up a small amount of wallpapers from that disc as samples. Plus I upload the Christmas Clock from January 2000, some screensavers, & some computer goods as well. I can't let people download the whole contents of the disc because of many reasons, so I ain't uploading anything else from the CD. All thumbnail images are 640X480 & will lead to the full size image when clicked on. The files were original bmp format. Imageshack changed them to png format. You may need to chage the format to use these wallpapers.

Screensavers
To install the screensavers, just double click on the icon or right click it & choose "Install" from the drop menu.
June 2000 OS Idol Winchan Screensaver - This screensaver features Winchan with headphones listening to music on a laptop behind some graffiti walls. The image bounces off the sides of your monitor with some sort of fireworks effect happening in the image.
November 2001 OS Idol Winchan Screensaver - This screensaver features Winchan in nekomimi mode in some lingerie. The image bounces off the sides of your monitor with cat paws with nekomimi Winchan's face in it spinning around the screen.
Miscellaneous
These programs require installation & are in Japanese.
January 2000 OS Idol Winchan Christmas Clock - A simple clock with a bust of Winchan with a Santa. The clock is in digital format, not analog. Doesn't have sounds because it was made that way. The menu is in Japanese.
April 2000 OS Idol Winchan Calculator - A basic calculator with Winchan on the left side of the program. The menu is in Japanese.
May 2000 OS Idol Winchan Mascot - This is the same mascot in the pic above where Winchan is sitting down. You can set her to sit on top of your programs or have her floating in the air like in the pic. The menu is in Japanese.
