Introduction

When I saw this Nendoroid of Miku Hatsune, I didn't know what it was.  I thought it was another Plus gimmick where they added a voice to this figurine like Good Smile Company did to Primula.  But after some research, I discover what Miku really was.  The figurine was cute at first glance & I decided to get her before I did a through research about her.  I pre-order her on YesAsia after some thought since my restriction policies didn't meet much of the requirements on her.

Some of the pictures aren't clear & good.  If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them.

The Review

Nendoroid Miku Hatsune in the box

Nendoroid Miku Hatsune is the first figurine to come out to the market & would lead to a lot of people wanting her & lead to other figurines of her.  She comes in the standard Nendoroid box with the theme matching her background source.

Nendoroid Miku with some accessories.  She comes with a bent right arm, two extra faces, one bent leg, an extra frontal hair, an extra right hand for holding her famous leek which is also included & a base with a stand holder.  Aside from the faces, there isn't much from this Nendoroid

Miku comes in her usual uniform.  She doesn't come in any different kind of clothing from what I've seen anyways.  Miku is poseable at the legs, arms, head, & her twin ponytails.

Although Miku's ponytails touches the floor, I would strongly recommend using the base.  The hair isn't stable enough to hold her weight

The joints on Miku aren't tight as I want them.  Her right ponytail comes off so easily.  The ponytails are designed to be movable at 180 degrees.  The problem with the ponytail isn't being loose, but the peg system not molded properly.   The peg doesn't go into the hole properly even when I use some force.  When I do, it comes off her head.  When I manage to fix it & put it back to her head, either it falls off again or the other ponytail falls off her head.  So, it's better not to fiddle around with her ponytails if you can.  You can barely get her hair standing straight at the sides.

For the other parts, they are ok.  But Miku's left shoulder is off a bit in terms of the joints not connecting together well.  There is a small gap between the body parts.  Another thing to point out is interchanging her hand.  Because of her long sleeves, it can be a bit hard to get your fingers on her hands.  The amount of space to change is quite small.

The paint job is superb on this chibi Miku even though there isn't a lot of details on this figurine.  The green parts are pretty smooth with barely any bleeds.  The small details such as the trippy lines on her sleeves are nicely done.  The "VOCALOID" letters on her chest is etched in cleanly.

The molding isn't too bad.  The parts are even & smooth with no rough edges or air bubbles.  Smooth, but sharp on some ends.

Changing Miku's face requires some extra work compared to other Nendoroids.  Aside from removing the front hair part, you need to remove the two ear pieces on the sides.  Those ear pieces are optional parts as Miku does have ears.  However, you would get holes on the sides of her head.

Despite having little accessories, I was actually surprised on the number of poses you can make out of Miku.  Although a lot of them are plain, they are surprising cute for some reason.  It feels like there is an endless amount.  I originally wanted to have her internet famed leek appearance.  But, I ended up having her on the normal side.

The faces of Miku are pretty cute.  But if you have been collecting Nendoroids or paid attention to them, you may notice that the eyes are pretty much the same as other Nendoroids.  Plus, Miku's face is a bit off from the original design.  Probably because of her SD appearance.  Nevertheless, they are cute.

Overall Conclusion

The Nendoroid Vocaloid2 Miku Hatsune figurine to great for any Miku fans out there.  Cute & fun to play with.  However, she's not too well made.  Currently, I have her on my top desk shelf. I don't plan to put her back in the box.

On a scale of ten, the Nendoroid Miku Hasune receives an eight out of ten.  The figurine is extremely cute & fun to play with.  Not much accessories but you can still do a lot of things with her.  Noticeable problems were the parts when interchanging them.  The biggest one is the ponytails.

I personally recommend getting Nendoroid Miku Hasune.  Chances of getting her will be ok since there is a second release.  However, you may want to go with the WF2008 version of Nendoroid #44 of her.  That version has four faces (two weird ones, one normal, & one blank) with more accessories such as an extra leek.  If you feel lucky, you may want to get that one over #33.  If you are diehard fan like most people I've seen, you may be getting both versions.  For me, I'll just stick with #33 thank you.
