When Tsukihime became a huge name in the doujinshi gaming world, major companies went to Type-Moon to get a piece of the action. Spring's Deluxe Figure Series #06 Arcueid was made before the anime was created. So the designs of Arc came from the game. This is figure #6 from Spring's Tsukihime Deluxe Figure Series. For the record, Spring is actually part of Yujin.
I got the Arc figurine from an online store & it was the last one. This wasn't an easy find by the way. This figurine is actually sold out & has been out of production for a long time. There were no reissues made.
Some of the pictures aren't clear & good. If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them.
Arcueid in package
The Arc figurine comes in a blister card, which is quite nice with long haired Arc in her moon dress in the background. This is the current state that my figurine is in right now. I have no plans to take her out of the package at the moment, even though the plastic at the bottom of the window is broken. I kept her this way when I was one of those "mint condition" collectors at the time.
Accessories that come with Arc are a changeable right hand, an extra pair of arms, extra front hair, extra face, a large white display base, & Neko-Arc. For a heavy retail price, these accessories seem to make up for it. As shown, Arc is already on her base & I think you can remove her from it. But I think you would need that base anyways to make her stand properly. The extra front hair actually has Neko-Arc's head attached to it, so you do that pose shown on the back of the blister card. I don't know how good the peg system is with this figurine.
The pose Arc is currently in is pretty good as she holds Ren in her arms. The other pose shown at the back of the blister card is good too with Neko-Arc on her left shoulder. Although it's static & nothing special, it does gives off a gentle warm feeling. Also, it matches her character pretty well.
The paint work on Arc's clothing is okay since it's only 1 colour on each piece of clothing. The white is a bit dirty with a shade of blue, making it look natural. The creases on clothing is quite natural. But for some reason, Arc looks a little "big". Aside from the "big" problem, the figurine is okay along with Neko-Arc. But, I had a problem with Ren.
What the? O_O
For some reason, Spring decided to give Ren some breasts. I don't mind if she was in human form. But in cat form, it's just too weird. I don't know what Spring was thinking of giving Neko Ren breasts. You can't see the shape from the pic, but the white bulges makes it noticeable. Honestly, it is too bizarre for my taste.
The faces of Arc
Each faces of Arc is pretty good. However, they don't have the same design as the game's. Nevertheless, it's well done in terms of the facial detail & expressions. The paint job is pretty clean as most of the areas are even with no bleeds. Even the blush lines are surprisingly even.
Neko-Arc's face is a bit poor from the eye & mouth area. There is some bleeding involved, but it was okay for a face that small.
Overall Conclusion
Spring's Arcueid Deluxe Figure lives up to its name. Although a bit heavy on the price, the accessories does make up for it somewhat.
On a scale of 10, Arc gets a 8.5 in my books. The excellent paint job & energy the figurine gives are what gave it this score. The lost points came from Arc's body proportions & Ren's breasts.
Personally, I highly recommend this Arc figurine to Tsukihime & Arc fans. It's quite a nice figure. Personally, I think the retail price offered for this figurine can be used for a 1/8 scale PVC figures instead. Although the accessories make up for it a bit, I still think it's quite expensive. If you want to find this, you better pray you can find it from online auctions. I seldom seen Arc for sale. But if you do, prepare to burn a hole in your wallet to get it.
