Tenjho Tenge Gashapon Part 3

Introduction

Kaiyodo & avex mode teamed up to make a long product line for the Tenjho Tenge Gashapon series.  Each series was released a month at a time.  There are a total of three parts & each of them are different.  This is part 3 of the gashapon lineup.  This set contains four figurines.  The design for this lineup is mini bust figurines with a twist.  These busts have jiggling breasts.  At first, I thought jiggling breasts were for the Chibi Maya only based the paste board I saw.  However, it was for all them.  Except for Chibi Maya, I really liked this set's designs.  It was the jiggling part that hesitated me to buy these.  These can make you look like a pervert, especially when girls sees these in action.  I decided to buy them & not "play with them".

The Review

Tenjho Tenge Part 3 Figure Paper

The set contains of two Aya Nastumes, Chibi Maya, & Maya Natsume.  For ¥300 a piece, you would expect above average gashapons; especially from Kaiyodo.  I believe the design of this set holds true to its retail price and probably more.   This is a first time for Kaiyodo to do these kind of mini busts in any product line & this is a first in the gashapon market.

The packaging of these gashapons are solid.  As you can see from the pic above, the busts are protected in a plastic casing; mainly to prevent damage to the breast.  With the exception of street-clothed Aya, the busts does require some minor assembly.  The parts are packaged in bags as you normally find in gashapons.  So, what makes those "things" jiggle?

Getting jiggy with it!

People say these have bouncing breasts.  Actually, they don't bounce. They jiggle.  There is a small spring that connects from the chest area to the breast piece.  They kind of jiggle like those bobble head toys.  Except these move either vertically or horizontally; depending on the direction you hit them.  They don't really give that much of an effect.  You have to see it to know what I mean.

The Natsume sisters

Nothing much to say about the details of these busts really.  The flower patterns on Maya's kimono was etched pretty good.  The school uniform that Aya's wearing makes her look busty.  Her sword is painted really well.  The teenage Maya is really revealling at the chest.  And the street clothing that Aya's wearing is pretty good in terms of her tanktop's creases & jacket collar.  Like part 2, the hair here are transparent colours which is a good touch.   Beware though.  Those tips of their hair are quite sharp.  Overall, these bust are very good; better than the last two parts.

The faces of Natsume

I really like the face designs of these gashapons.  Very clean & detailed, especially the eyes.  Chibi Maya's face was hard to take a pic of because of her chest.  These faces seems to resemble more of the anime designs in my view.  There's probably a bit of manga touch in them.

Overall Conclusion

Tenjho Tenge Part 3 is very interesting in terms of it's design.  If you thought part 2 was neat, this will probably blow your mind.  I had TenTen Part 3 in a display case with parts 1 & 2 together.  Now this set is by itself since I threw the other two in the trash when some of the figurines from those sets broke.

Out of ten, I rate this set a nine.  The paint & detail work was excellent & the unique design idea was a driving factor. Although that driving factor may turn off some people. 

If you want to get TenTen Part 3, chances of finding it can be quite slim.  Mini busts are strong collectable items & are quite hard to get after they are released over time.  And these probably won't be an exception, especially with the jiggling breasts.  I'm not sure if these will increase in value like past Kaiyodo mini bust gashapons.
