Introduction

After collecting Konami's Figumate Mahou Sensei Negima Trading Figurines & seeing the Rumble Roses ones as previews, I immediately wanted to buy them.  They are totally different than the Negima ones since the outfits aren't copies.  However, I'm not a fan of the game since I never played it & know little about it.

The Review

Like other Figumates, Konami has used this as their standard packaging for their Figumate products.  Same design around the box.

On the side of the box, it tells you (by visual picture) that you can use the figurines in this volume with others to interchange the parts with other Figumate trading figures.  The picture can be viewed here. 

Figumate Rumble Roses Trading Figurines Vol. 3 Incomplete Set

There are five + two trading figurines in this set.  For some strange reason, Konami decided to picture the secret character in full colour on the trading figurine boxes.  Figurines in the set are Reiko Hinomoto, Makoto Aihara, Evil Rose, Benikage with mask, & Candy Cane.  The secret figurine are Reiko in player two colour white & Benikage without her mask.  The true secret figurine is Benikage without mask as stated on the box.  I'm missing the white Reiko.  There are no accessories with the trading figurines.  Put their heads in & display.

The bases here are plain red with the Rumble Roses logo on it.  It's really plain.  These are actually needed as the girls can't stand on their own weight.

Unlike other Figumates I've played with, putting the figurines on the clip of the stand isn't too bad.  The reason is become the clip stand is pretty high.  It goes above the knees.  Evil Rose was a bit difficult as her tail got in the way at times.  If you snap her on as is, her tail will go between her legs.  It's looks really weird that way.

The joints & pegs are bit tight as the arms & legs don't come apart easily.  This is pretty good.  As for the wrestling costumes, they are cute & sexy like the game somewhat since they are in SD form.  Because of this SD form, the costumes look quite dull due to the cuteness factor.  Although they sport some nice costumes, how is the paint job?

The paint job isn't too bad when it comes to large areas.  Also, the figurines are detailed dead down.  The rose tattoos on Benikage, the tattoo on Evil Rose's breast, & the mole on Reiko's chest.  The fine painting on Evil Rose is pretty impressive as it has a lot of small details.  However, like the others, it suffers a lot on the little things.  The dot holes on Candy Cane's belt are poorly done, the blob of silver paint on Benikage's boot, & the spikes around Evil Rose's costume.  Those small things that are done repetitive aren't painted well as they are either uneven or parts being bigger or smaller than the other.

The molding job isn't too bad.  Hardly any air bubbles, bumps, or uneven surfaces.  Plus, the joints are quite tight.  When I took them out of their packaging & assemble their heads, the waist & arms didn't fall out.  But positioning the arms was a little tight & hard.

The faces of each of the wrestlers are somewhat similar.  All they have are different facial expressions.  They aren't badly done in terms of the painting, etching, & molding jobs.  However, they seem to be lifeless for some reason.  It's as if they are missing something.

Overall Conclusion

The Figumate Rumble Roses Trading Figurines Vol. 1 is pretty different from other Figumate trading figures out there.  There's a lot of different clothing to allow you to interchange them with other figurines.  This is the very reason why I brought them.  It makes up for the lack of accessories for these girls.  I had these trading figurines in a display case, but sold them away after keeping them on display for a long time.

The Figumate Rumble Roses Trading Figurines Vol. 1 finishes with an eight out of ten.  It's got a nice variety of interchangeable parts & good tight joints.  The problem with them though is they lack life & energy.  After getting them, I didn't have the feeling that I wanted when I saw them for the first time on the net.

If you plan to get these SD Rumble Roses trading figures, you should have no problems finding them.  There are quite a few stores that still carry them.  For the price, I assume it's roughly the same as the suggested retail price & possible lower.  If you love figumate & like to interchange parts, this set should fill your need well.
