Introduction

When I saw this Rozen Maiden Träumend Suiginto Sword Pendant on the net, I was iffy about it at first.  But I preordered them at YesAsia.  I like the design when I saw a close up pic of it.  Looks like an unisex item where both genders can enjoy it, so that was how the final decision was made.

Some of the pictures aren't clear & good.  If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them.

The Review

Packaging of Rozen Maiden Träumend Suiginto Sword Pendant

The packaging of the Rozen Maiden Träumend Suiginto Sword Pendant is still a bit plain as this is the same packaging used on other Rozen Maiden related jewelry. On one side, you see the official TBS hologram product sticker & the description of the product with the price including tax.

Casing of the pendant

The casing is made of soft material with a rough surface.  It's kind of like rubber.  The casing is suppose to be a copy of the doll cases in the Rozen Maiden series & it's not too badly done with the gold etching of the rose.  Underneath, you have in gold the copyright stuff from PEACH-PIT.  The case is soft where you can bend it.  This casing is the same as other SOL International's Rozen Maiden related jewelry goods again.

Opening the casing & you get a fairly nice presentation.  Under the lid, you have the Rozen Maiden Träumend in gold on some nice black cloth.  You also see some sort of white cotton-like fluff to protect the pendant from dirt & damage.  On top of it is a sheet of paper with SOL International's contact info & how to handle the pendant in Japanese.  Removing the fluff & you get your pendant.

When I first saw the actual pendant, I was disappointed.  It looked very plain & simple.  It does look like the same design as the ad pics; right down to the detail.  But somehow, I don't feel excite about them.  The pendant is very thin & sharp at the tip.  SOL International says that the pendant are made of 0.925 Sterling Silver, which I think is the lowest quality of silver.  I'm no jewelry expert, so I could be wrong.  However, your everyday silverware (e.g. knives, forks, & spoons) are made from this material.  So, it's not too surprising to find that these are made from cheap materials.  Plus, it feels very light.  I'm not sure if actual Sterling Silver is suppose to be that light.  Looking at it, it's looks like cheap materials were used.  Plus, it looks like it has some corrosion a bit when I was examining it.  It has some slight discolouring like the coating is coming off.

For the strap, it's very long for a pendant.  I think 40cm is more than enough.  Luckily, it can be adjusted since the strap is actually tied from one end to another.  But, the strap feels fragile.  I have a feeling that it can break or snap when you tie it too tight.  Plus, you need to make sure you tie it properly so it doesn't come undone by itself.  However, the pendant is stuck pretty good on the strap as I can't reposition it.  The hole that connects to the strap may be too small, which causes no or possibly little movements around the strap.

As for the details, it's actually well made for a small & thin pendant.  Even from a distance it looks good.  Although there are some bad spots of unevenness, it's well done overall.

Overall Conclusion

The Rozen Maiden Träumend Suiginto Sword Pendant isn't much as I expected.  The pendant isn't falsely advertised since the actual product is exactly how it looks like.  Just disappointed to see that it's actually smaller & thinner than I thought.  Plus the material looks a bit cheap even if it is Sterling Silver.  I do wear the pendant at times as it does look like an unisex item, which may be a first in the Rozen Maiden jewelry lineup.

The Rozen Maiden Träumend Suiginto Sword Pendant gets a seven out of ten.  It's not badly made & it's exactly how it looks like in the advertisement pictures.  It's thinner that I thought & the materials look a bit cheap for some reason.  Considering it's design, it's pretty fashionable for casual & formal wear in my opinion.  It looks good from any distance; up close or far away.  But, it may be confused as a thin cross easily.  I suspect that my expectations for this pendant were set too high, considering its heavy price tag.

I'm not too sure how easy or hard it is to get the Rozen Maiden Träumend Suiginto Sword Pendant now.  I have seen some places have it sold out.   I don't know if this is now a rare item or what.  As for pricing, it's probably at the suggested Japanese retail price.  However, I would personally think it's better to get it at a price that's lower than the suggested price.
