Introduction Loving the Tsukihime series & hearing that there was a Pinky Arcueid coming out, I pre-ordered it from an online store from Japan that is now gone. This is the second Pinky on the market that is collaborated from an anime or game series. This Pinky was sold out & reissued once. Some of the pictures aren't clear & good. If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them. |

The Review When I got Arcuied Pinky, I didn't expect it to come in a book-like box. I was expecting it to be in a blister card. The box is the same size as those other special Pinkys that comes with a book. The book included here has 32 pages containing outside scenery pic shots of Arc, customization of Arc with different Pinky parts, instructions in modifying her into Neko-Arc, a mini-manga strip, & history of the making of Arc Pinky & the Tsukihime game lineup. It also contains an one page ad of Project *R* Arc Pinky coming soon. It's basically a repaint version of Arc which you can probably see in the booklet. That version never actually come out. Also included is Neko-Arc as an accessory & an extra body. The extra body is a white shirt pajama. For the first time, a display base is included. From my personal experience, the base is required for Arc to stand properly.
Arc's pose is the same one you would find her doing most of the time. I think the weight of her hair causes her to look into the sky. I tried to make her look straight ahead, but it bends back to the upward position. I'm not sure if all of them are like that. Her clothing is the same one Arc usually wears & it's quite plain. I would prefer an Arc Pinky with long hair in her princess dress, but I guess making long hair was hard for the company at the time. Plus, short haired Arc is the one you see in the series most of the time anyways.
The pajama body is nothing but a white shirt. The same one you see in the game. Again, quite plain with no designs. But the funny thing about this body was the right hand hole isn't drilled. I'm not sure if it's just my Pinky that has it or all of them do. Neko-Arc is quite cute. The paint job on it is good since there isn't anything special to do. No paint bleeding on the eyes. Arc's face resembles like her game version. It does have the innocent pure smile to it & matches her character well. The paint job is well done. |

Overall Conclusion Arcueid Pinky isn't too bad. I would prefer her more in her princess outfit, but this isn't bad. It doesn't have anything special like other special edition Pinkys, but I thought it was fair enough with the booklet & base. I give Arc Pinky a 7.5/10. The reason is the plain clothing she has. If you are a person that likes to mix & match Pinkys, the accessories here may not appeal to you unless you plan to modify them. Looking for this Arc Pinky in stores isn't hard. I think BABY sue & VANCE Project reissued too many of them after it was sold out in the first run. In other words, it lost its value of making Arc special to collect. Thus, the price has gone down a lot. If you are a diehard Tsukihime or Pinky fan, Arc Pinky is a pretty good Pinky to have in your collection. |
