Introduction

Although with Akemi Hasegawa Floral Mint Type, Miharu Fuyuki Floral Type was one of two PVC figurines in wave two of Kotobukiya's Welcome to Pia Carrot!! 3 PVC series.  Originally sold as a resin model kit, this figurine sold out & I don't think it was reissued.  I actually pre-ordered the second wave from YesAsia when I first heard about it.  Although the entire second wave is Floral Type uniforms, the poses are different.

Some of the pictures aren't clear & good.  If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them.

The Review

Miharu Fuyuki Floral Mint Type out of the box

Simple out of the box with no assembly required figurine.  I had to untie the ties that are tied to Miharu's hair.  Kotobukiya must have took extra care on the packaging of her hair.  Of course, I put her on the included display base.

Miharu's pose is actually a copy of FC02's Welcome to Pia Carrot!! 3 phone card artwork.  Hiroshi took that artwork into 3D form.  The pose is simple.  The only special part of her pose is her hair.  The hair blends very nicely with her pose, showing some movement as if it's being blown from the wind.  It looks really good from all sides.  The details on her clothing look good too.

For some reason, the detail paint job on Miharu's uniform is much better than Akemi's.  The dark green trimmings on the hem of Miharu's dress is more even, although there are some areas that are not.  The trimmings on the sleeve part is much thicker, giving it a much darker green.  The Pia Carrot button on Miharu's dress is done pretty well.  There is some bleeding, but it is not noticeable from a distance.

Smile!

The paint job on Miharu's face is excellent.  Kudos to Kotobukiya!  No bleeding & very clean.  The light colours on her open mouth smile makes it well balanced.  In fact, Miharu's smile is very similar to the Akemi figure.  The difference between the two would be the expression on their eyes if you pay close attention to them.

Overall Conclusion

Miharu Fuyuki Floral Type figurine doesn't have anything special.  The only thing I can say about it is the placement of her hair.  The second wave is quite weak in terms of the poses.  Mirharu has been put on display for a long time with no plans for her to be put back in her box.

The fine workmanship on the paint job is extremely well done though.  It's quite hard to see some of the minor problems up close.

On a scale of ten, Miharu Fuyuki Floral Type gets an 8.5 in my books.  The excellent workmanship on the fine paint job & hair placement supported this score.  What lead to its lost points is the weak pose that this figurine offers.

I have heard that Miharu was the least fan-favourite character in the series.  I'm not sure why.  My guess is probably her character.  She is one of my favourites though.  This may be why Kotobukiya didn't re-release it.  However, I don't understand why this figurine sold out in a month or two if she wasn't a fan-favourite.  Out of production for years now, I haven't seen this figurine for sale for a long time.  If you plan to get Miharu Fuyuki Floral Type in your collection, you will have do some deep searching to find it.  I have no idea how much she goes for now since her popularity is unknown to me.  But beware of the bootlegged versions of her out there from online auction sellers.
