Introduction

When I saw this Ignis the White WF version figurine for sale on eBay for the first time, I was like "DAMNIT!!  HAWT STUFF!!!!"  I didn't know this one was in existence even though I was aware of the original Ignis the White version.  Because it's only available from Wonder Festival 2007 Summer convention (August 12), it was impossible for me to get it since I'm on the other side of the world even if I heard of it in advance.  The only option was to get from online auctions anyways.  I initially didn't want to get it since I was already focused on the original version.  Since I couldn't find a place I liked to preorder it from, I decided to try my luck on the WF version.  I fail to bid on the first auction due to the high price which scared me away.  But when another seller was offering it, I decided to try again & managed to win it.  Luckily, I was glad to hold out from the first one since the winning bid is lower in the second auction.  In the end though, I paid a lot even if I don't include shipping cost.  More than double the retail price.

Ignis the White WF version was available only from the WF 2007 summer convention. Limited to only 200 pieces, it was the first of three Ignis the White figurines to be released publicly for sale.  I don't know how fast this figurine was sold at the convention.  Judging on the massive response from the original version based on preorders, I can only imagine that it emptied Orchid Seed's storage very quick.

Some of the pictures aren't clear & good.  If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them.

Ignis the White WF version in box

As you can see, that's one plain box.  All white with the product label & Nitro+ stickers on the top.  If it wasn't for the Nitro+ sticker, you would probably think it's a bootleg.  A lot of people complained about the box, but there's probably a reason for the white box.  Maybe it's to save printing cost, no time to print a box, or to prevent you from getting mugged on the streets when they see it's Ignis the White.  But I think the real reason is shown in the pic below.

Ignis out of the bo.... WOAH! O_O

Pull Ignis out of the box & she comes out with her breasts bearing at you.  It was a surprise for me to see that when I pulled her out.  But it was my mother that got the shock since she pulled Ignis out first.  (DANGIT!)  Yes, mom, your son is a pervert. =(

Ignis from different sides

Probably like most people, the pose & dress are what sold me.  A static pose with Ignis' right arm extended out as her bloody red dress flutters on the right.  It's got grace & beauty written on it.  I found this to be strangely sexy than the other two versions.  It's probably because of the red.  The red is actually much darker than the ad pics.  It's very heavy in tone.  Also, she isn't heavy as I thought.  She's very light.  I was thinking it was heavy because of the dress.  However, it's made of ABS.

Ignis the White comes with a large thin black base with a metal label on the front which says "Ignis the White" in Japanese with some other texts as well.  Probably Ignis the White in Japanese.  She comes out "complete" as the base is screwed onto her two feet.  For some reason, the screws at the bottom are chipped.  From the looks of it, I can't remove the screws now since the heads are worn out.  Also, the base is elevated a bit with four tiny legs at the bottom.

Ignis comes with two sets of clothing parts.  One set is the top part of her dress which should have been put on at the start & the other set is the straps without the cover parts.  Putting the parts on was very frustrating.  The parts are small & the pegs are on the straps.  The peg holes are located under Ignis' breasts.  It looked simple, but it took me a long time to get them on.  The parts kept falling & won't stay in place.  Once I got them in, they would fall out at my touch.  It got me frustrated that I think I scratched Ignis' nipples.  Not that I really care much about the nipples since I don't want to show them, but paying something that expensive can be upsetting.  I'm thinking the pegs aren't long enough to set into the holes.  Also, the covers seems to be crooked a bit.  This caused me to try to fix the parts a bit which in turn caused them to fall out again.  However, I learned that Ignis' breasts aren't leveled as one is lower than the other a bit after looking at them carefully.

Stripping Ignis down to her lingerie is not possible after all.  The area that you are suppose to take out from is actually glued.  That area is her torso area.  The dress is actually off a bit from the top & you can see her skin in the gaps.  The transparency of the dress does show her panties in detail & looking under the dress reveals the nice details of Ignis' stockings being there.   The other two versions can do it, but this one doesn't.  Since the WF version was announced on short notice & is the first figurine of the line, the creators probably couldn't mold the design properly in time or the removal design itself could be faulty.  This is released a month before the original version after all & there was no pics of it having her being stripped down.  It is be possible to remove the dress, but you would need to un-melt the glued peg to get the dress off.

The molding of the dress is very nice.  The creases, the flutter, & the design is truly a piece of 3D artwork.  The transparency effect at the edges of the dress makes it look nice, especially the light red parts where you can see Ignis' skin & her panties.  The dress is actually made of ABS instead of PVC which explains the hard feel & lightness of the figurine.  Also, the explanation of the transparency effect.  The black roses on Ignis' dress & hair is nicely molded as well.  Again, it's made of ABS.  The toning of the red & some of the black are dependent on lighting.  It can look very dark or clear depending on the light & angle.  Sometimes, the red can look a bit purple.  Thanks to ABS, the dress & rose designs are very clean as it's probably a much easier material to use.  But, this figurine should be handled with care since the dress seems to break easily with some strong force of dropping it.  The joints on the dress are very visible up close.  You can see the cuts cleanly.  The edges are sharp in some areas while the end tips are rounded off.

The molding of Ignis' hair is not bad.  However, you can see some noticeable dips/bumps & panel lines.  Most of it is in the front.  The shaping of the hair isn't too great.  It's got the style, but I may be expecting a bit too much.  The tips of the hair is a bit sharp as well, but you shouldn't be touching her hair since it's quite fragile.

Etching is hardly found on this figurine.  I'm kind of surprised that Ignis doesn't have her tattoo her back.  It's probably because it's only used for her battle uniform.  But there is some etching on the mid-lower part of her dress around her lower stomach.  Because of the transparency effect, you can see the etching in a slightly darker red pattern above her crotch area.  Initially, I thought that was tattooed to her skin, but it isn't.  It's actually on her dress.  Because it's red & small, it's not too noticeable.

The paint job isn't as bad as I thought.  From pics I've seen of actual owners, the straps & buckles suffer a lot of bleeding & unevenness.  I didn't know this until after I won the figurine.  The problems seems to be noticeable when you look at them close up.  It's probably because it's too hard to see from a distance as they are quite small.  However, when I actually got Ignis, it wasn't too bad.  In fact, it looked better.

The black straps & gray buckles are nicely painted.  It's only the buckles that are suffering from the bleeds here & there.  Ignis' hair suffers a bit as it's one tone.  It kind of makes the figurine out of place a bit with her smashing dress.  It makes the figurine look like a toy.  The colour is too bold.  Although I'm glad it's not transparent, but I would like it if it was a bit darker to match the dress.  Nicely enough, Ignis' nails are coloured as well.  Although I'm not a fan of coloured nails on figurines, this one was okay.  The colour is in a light pink that matches the skin colour well.

Ignis' high heel shoes is too bold like her hair.  The red is too bright & loud & almost clashes with the dress.  Luckily, it's not very visible on all sides.  Looking at the feet, I noticed that Ignis isn't placed too solid on the base.  The pegs on the bottom of her front feet are sticking up a bit as they aren't fully inserted to the base as it seems. Closer inspection seems to show that her feet may be glued as well.  As a result, Ignis would wobble a lot when you touch her or pick her up from the bottom.  It scares me a bit to think if she'll fall off of the base.  The heads of the screws are worn out as it is, so I don't dare to play around with it.

Ignis' face had some mixed reactions from me.  When I first saw it on eBay from the seller's pic that was taken from WF, I was iffy about it.  Looks weird & fake.  Missing that Ignis touch a bit.  When I got the figurine in my hands, it looks good actually.  The eyes matched the game designs right down to the slightest pupils.  Her face looks a bit round & the facial details looks ok.  It's calm & have that Ignis impression.

Overall Conclusion

Ignis the White WF version is a stunning figurine to own.  Nice energetic pose, awesome dress detailing, & nice use of the transparency ABS mold.  Problems noticed are the bold red colour on Ignis' hair & shoes.  Also, the extreme difficultly of putting the strap breast cover.  I don't know about the pegs on the straps that exposes her breasts are good or not since I don't have plans to use those.  Ignis is proudly being displayed on my shelf & I don't plan to take her down unless I plan to put up the other Ignis the White as a replacement.

Ignis the White WF version gets a beautiful 8.5/10.  Again, the beautiful wedding dress & transparency effect brings out Ignis' beauty.  The lost points are really from the peg system from the accessories.  Also, the loss of removing Ignis' dress is another factor.

Finding Ignis the White WF version will be extremely difficult.  Limited to 200 around the world & carrying a heavy initial price tag, collectors will need to pay top dollars for it now & many are prepared to do that.  If you are looking for the WF version, you really need to hope someone out there is willing to sell it.  I've only seen two sellers that were selling Ignis the White WF overseas on eBay only at the time of writing this review.  I don't know about Japan though.  If you are willing to give up red, the original white is still an available option.  The black version is a Hobby Japan exclusive & is only available in Japan as well as a mail order.  Nevertheless, I strongly recommend getting the WF version based on the colour.
