Introduction I brought this Ichigo 100% UFO prize item TV version set by accident from eBay. I wanted the OVA series & the online seller put the wrong pic in the auction. Although I informed him about it, I wasn't upset about it really since I never seen this set before. Like all UFO prize items, these were never re-released. Some of the pictures aren't clear & good. If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them. |

The Review There are four plushes in this set. They are Aya Toujou, Satsuki Kitaouji, Tsukasa Nishino, & Yui Minamoto. The reason why I didn't complain to the seller aside from being a nice guy was the fact that Satsuki is in this set. I like Satsuki. Anyways, all the girls are in high school uniforms & don't stand up. The legs are movable & soft, which explains why they must be in the sitting position. You also have the option of hanging them from the string loop that are attached on their heads. In terms of the workmanship, it's not bad. I'm actually impressed that UFO prized item plushes are made pretty good now. It's almost as good as the plushes you can buy in stores here. However, they do have some flaws here & there, such as ends not sewed properly, loose threads, etc. But in general, it's pretty good & tight. The materials used aren't too cheap from the looks of it. The shoes uses some sort of plastic shiny material. The tags are placed not on the plushes now, but a plastic string around the waist area. Plus, the tags on the girls legs have a strawberry design & their names. Also, the material used on the hair is felt. Very nice material. But the black line prints on the clothing may come off from washing. It's pressed or ironed on. These dolls are almost too good for UFO prize items or my standards of them have been outdated since I last seen them. As an added bonus, Aya & Tsukasa have ichigo panties on; the main symbol of the series! One thing that I don't like about this set is the heads & faces. The sizes of the heads are almost like balloons. For some reason, the heads make the plushes look small with their thin bodies. Because of the balloon effect, the necks look too wide. The most noticeable one of this problem is Satsuki. Her neck is as wide as her head. The roundness of the heads affect the faces a bit. The faces do capture the characters a bit in terms of their personalities. But it doesn't look too great. You may not notice it from the pics, but seeing them in your hands would say otherwise. Tsukasa probably has the best face of them all. My favourite girl's face is wrecked. Oh the pain! The reason again is the ballooning of the heads. I'm quite surprised that the facial features are sewed in. The eyes are pure threads, not some piece of fabric or iron-on. Even the mouths as well as the eyebrows. |

Overall Conclusion The Ichigo 100% UFO plush TV version set isn't a bad set of plushes to own. It has all four main heroines & captures the personalities of the characters. But the heads are really a turn off for me. The Ichigo 100% UFO plush TV version set grades a seven out of ten. The workmanship is great in the sewing department & the materials used doesn't seem to be cheap. The size of the heads is pretty bad though. It not only affects the size of the plush in terms of appearance, but the faces as well. Even though the stitching on the faces is excellent, it doesn't do much with the distortion. Getting this set may be difficult now. Because of the series' popularity from the anime, the prices for a set isn't too high. It's quite reasonable. Purchasing them individually may be a challenge & some of them seem to cost more than others. Therefore, getting a set would be best. If you are a fan of Ichigo 100% or like any of the girls in this set, I would suggest getting them if you still can. However, I don't strongly recommend getting them though. |
