Introduction

When I saw this Gundam Seed SD Characters Part 1 set on the net, I wanted to get them because they were cute; especially Lacus since she was my favourite characters at the time.  I got my set from the Richmond Night Market during that summer.  Finding this set may not be easy since this is the first series that would lead to a number of sequels from the SEED universe & become a prototype to other Gundam universes.  This set also influenced in creating SD characters from other series such as Inu Yasha & Full Metal Alchemist.

Some of the pictures aren't clear & good.  If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them.

The Gundam Seed SD Characters Part 1 gashapon set consists of ten figures of the main characters of the show.  There are no secret figures.

There is very little assembly required for these gashapon figures.  Most of them just require you to attach their stands to their bodies & stick them on the base.  The rest require little assembly such as putting the heads.

The bases are basically the same.  You can stack them with other bases side by side to form a long line.  The only difference between the bases are those text stickers in the front.  Each of them are speeches from the character's lines from the show.  As you can see, the poses of each character are from show.  So, the speech lines match up with their stances.

For ¥100 a piece, these are painted quite well.  Close to par with the ¥200 ones.  There are some bleeding on the lines, but it's reasonable.

The facial expression of each character are cute, which was why I brought them.  Very SD like.  The paint job is done very well.  Although there are hardly any bleedings, there are some unevenness; mainly around the open mouths.  The eyes are etched in very well.

Overall Conclusion

The Gundam Seed SD Characters Part 1 gashapon set is nicely done in terms of the workmanship.  However, I'm starting to lose some interest in this set since it has been sitting on my shelves for over four years & never seen their plastic bags.

The Gundam Seed SD Characters Part 1 gashapon set receives a 7.5/10.  The workmanship is excellent & the figures are SD cute.  The lost points are basically from my side where I feel these gashapons are starting to wear out on me.

The price for this set varies from what I seen.  There are times that I seen it sell very cheap & there are times where I see it cost two to three times more than its Japanese retail price.  If you want this set, you best need to search for those places with low prices.  Now only do you need to do that, you need to keep in mind that this gashapon set is extremely rare now & can be hard to get.
