Introduction

When the Final Fantasy X-2 Minimum Collection came out, they were selling at pretty high prices on online auctions.  I brought mine's from eBay just when the hype was dying down.  I could have save some money if I waited a bit longer.  But then, there weren't many left available.  In terms of this item being reissued, I have no idea.

The Final Fantasy X-2 Minimum Collection is basically Square Enix characters in block characters that are poseable; something similar to Kurbrick & Lego figures.  There are other Minimum Collection figures available from other series.  This set is the latest & possibly last to be made in this lineup.

Some of the pictures aren't clear & good.  If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them.

Rikku, Yuna, & Paine in package

This Final Fantasy X-2 Minimum Collection set includes Rikku, Yuna, & Paine in SD block format.  I'll displayed these before, but decided to put them back cause I wanted shelf space for something else.  They come with their respectable weapons: a pair of knives, a pair of guns, & a sword.  Putting them into their hands was quite easy.

In terms of how well they stand & pose, it's not too bad.  There are some joints that are loose, especially the legs.  I had some troubles at times to made them stand without falling back due to the knee joint.  But that rarely happens.  When I made poses for them, some of the parts came off with little force.  It's best not to use a lot of force in moving the joints.  Luckily, it's easy to fix them back.  Now for the details.

The paint job on these figurines are not too bad with the exception of Paine.  Out of all the girls, Rikku was made the best.  Look at the colouring of her scarf.  It's beautiful made as the colour tones go from red to orange to yellow quite smoothly.  No much paint bleeding overall.

For Yuna, that half skirt she wears has good colour toning as well.  From blue to white.  Really balanced.  Not a lot of bleeding.  The only area that pretty much has it is the belt buckle.

Paine suffers the most in the painting department.  The silver paint around her waist around has a lot of unevenness, which lead to bleeding.  In some areas, they aren't completely painted.  The top part of Paine's clothing is pretty good though.  But her sword can't be said the same.

The weapons of the girls

The skull of Paine's sword is also incomplete in terms of painting.  I'm not sure if it's meant to be this way as a display of showing the sword's age.  Other parts of the sword, however, are done very well.  The same can be said for the other weapons.  Yuna's guns are done very well.  Look at them.  Hardly any signs of bleeding & the colours are pretty much on the dot.

With the exception of Paine's waist, the paint problems aren't really noticeable until you go up close.

The faces of the three heroines

From the looks of it, the face details are etched in based on the gloss the camera produced & the amount of sharpness.  I didn't open the package to check cause I got lazy.

The facial expression look pretty cute.  Rikku's eye are just freaky in SD mode.  Nevertheless, they do display their game characters well.

Overall Conclusion

The Final Fantasy X-2 Minimum Collection set isn't too bad.  They are cute & terrific to put up to display anywhere since they are small.  However, the price was quite high at the time.  For a bit more, you could have brought a medium-sized action figure.  As mentioned before, I have display these before & are put back into their packaging in my closet.

On a scale of ten, I give Final Fantasy X-2 Minimum Collection an eight.  The high points were from the block design, SD cuteness, & the articulations you can do with them.  The bad side about them is the loose joints & the parts can come off easily if you aren't careful.

Although I would suggest people to get this set, it's really quite pricey.  Plus, they are hard to get now.  Comparing the other figures in the Square Enix Minimum Collection series, this is one is the least popular because of the name.  Personally, this is still a worthwhile set but I would recommend getting a different series such as the Final Fantasy VII one.
