Introduction When I learn about the next Death Note charm which was the Kira & L's Handcuff one made by Good Smile Company again, I decided to get it. The price was cheap & looks pretty cool. I pre-ordered it from YesAsia right away when I learn about it. I did have more itching for a necklace for some reason. The charm was supposed to be released in March, but it got delayed to April due to production problems. Some of the pictures aren't clear & good. If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them. |

The Review
Although this is the pic of the L's Chair Charm box, it's the same one. Again, it's quite a nice box for an accessory really. Nicely done logo & sleek gloss black. But when you open it, you may be a little disappointed. When you open the box, you will see a card that gives you the contact information for Good Smile Company, description of the charm, & how to handle it. The card is probably used for displaying the accessory in a store glass display case or panel. Remove the tissue paper folded around & you'll see the handcuff just placed there. It wasn't place like how the pic above is showing. When I remove the box from the packaging box it was shipped in, I picked up the lid only & the box fell to the ground with the contents falling out. It was placed like that either way. The charm was on top of the layer of white cotton-like fluff. The handcuffs don't swing freely. About 75% from the top is welded together & it looks kind of messy. The bottom part is separated to allow some swinging motion. The Death Note plate is the same one from the L's Chair Charm. Basically, Good Smile decided to reused that mold. In terms of the details of the handcuffs, the top chain part isn't too good. This is because of the welding of the two to be stuck together. Other than that, it's looks fine as it's really a simple design. The chain is fairly short. The full chain length is 39cm. It's long enough to be hung around your collarbone. As for the material, I don't know how easy it is to bend the charm. As it is made of metal (probably the cheap type), it should be breakable from bending. Of course, I'm not going to try it. The handcuffs really look like it's metal coated or chromed instead. |

Overall Conclusion The Death Note Kira & L's Handcuff Charm is quite a nice accessory. Despite being made from low quality materials, it serves its purpose well. It's quite stylish for casual wear. The Death Note Kira & L's Handcuff Charm gets an 8/10. Nicely made & affordable. However, it's the cheapest charm ever made for the Death Note series at the time of its release. The metal looks like chrome instead of the actual thing. But, the design is nice for everyday wear. It's now hard to get the Kira & L's Handcuff Charm now. This was made in limited numbers. As for pricing, it's probably at the suggested Japanese retail price; possibly more cheaper. If you have money to blow, I would get something a bit better in quality as this uses cheap materials. However, it's still good in terms of fashion sense. |
