Introduction

When I stopped by J-Hobby, I decided to buy this Dead or Alive trading figurine set.  The designs of the clothing are what interested me in buying it, plus the articulations were what sold me.  I never liked the game, but it was only the poses that did the trick.

The DOA trading figurine set have been sold out for a long time now & were never reissued.  Plus, I got rid of them since I needed to clean my closet out for newer stuff.

The Review

The DOA Ultimate gashapon has a set of six figurines.  There are Kasumi (in two colours), Ayane (in two colours), Lei Fang, & Hitomi. All the girls come preassembled in terms of their bodies & come with accessories.  They are extra body parts like hands, energy flame, a base, & a stand to hold them upright.  The girls have a lot of articulations which is quite impressive.  The ankles, knees, upper legs, hips, elbows, wrist, shoulders, head, & neck.  I was quite shocked to see that many areas that you can pose from a small figurine.  Although I did haven't open my set & observed them from the packaging bag, I've seen store displays pose them & they look good.  In terms of how stable they are, I don't know.

The hair parts are transparent instead of solid.  I have no idea why Kaiyodo (the other company that helped design these trading figurines) uses those kind of parts.  Probably because it looks cooler or something.  As for the paint job, it's pretty good for something that small.  But there isn't much details on them.  It's mostly plain solid colours.

Overall Conclusion

The K-T Figure Collection DX Dead or Alive Trading Figurine Set is a pretty nice set in terms of the designs & articulations.  The number of poses you can be seem to be a lot & endless.  If I was a DOA fan, I would have kept them.  But, I've sold these away since they were just sitting in my closet unopened with no interest in taking them out.  This set is recommended DOA fans though, even for the non-DOA fans that like hot fighting girls.

I can't really grade this K-T Figure Collection DX Dead or Alive Trading Figurine Set since I never got around in playing with or opening them.  Die-hard fans of DOA will enjoy this set & would be a recommended item to collect.  Although it doesn't have a high sexy factor, it's pretty good. 

Getting the K-T Figure Collection DX Dead or Alive Trading Figurine Set isn't too much of a problem.  I have seen many stores, mainly the Asian supermarket ones, carrying these for sale.  Not a cheap price since they are still the same as they were when they were first released.  But getting them as a set may be hard since most of the stores are just carrying a small number of them. You would probably need to go to many place just trying to make a set.
