Introduction

I brought this Rosette Christopher trading figurine as an unopened blind box at J-Hobby.  I think I didn't know the owner at the time.  Also, I'm not sure why I brought this trading figurine.  I'm thinking it was impulsive mindless buying.  I believe I had no reason to buy it.  Nevertheless, Rosette came out of the box & I was pretty happy about it.  At least, that's what I can recall from my memory.

I have sold Rosette due to lost interest.

The DragonHeroines Selection Two box & set

The DragonHeroines Selection Two series is a mixture of different Kadokawa anime/manga series put into Mega House's C-Model lineup.  I recognize some of the series & there are some that I don't.  There are six + two trading figurines in this set.  The two secret trading figurines aren't really secrets since they are exposed on the box.

Rosette Christopher out of the box

Out of the box came Rosette Christopher from Chrno Crusade.  She comes with a nice amount of interchangeable parts for an old trading figurine.  You get an extra set of her front hair on a tree, which I have no idea what's the hair for, her nun cap, & an extra left hand that's open.  So, you can have some very limited multiple variations of Rosette.  The assembly work is quite tough.  The dress part is hard to put together & comes off easily if not handled with care.  The joints are very hard to put in as they are very tight.  I drilled a hole on one of the hands to make it a bit bigger, but it's still tight.  It can be very frustrating to put Rosette together.  I didn't even bother to assemble the other variation of Rosette for this review due to the toughness.  Plus, I only got the chance to take pics of Rosette since I was taking pics to sell her away at the time.  So these are basically quick shots.

Rosette from different sides

This figurine captures Rosette pretty well with her stance & gun holding pose.  Although the interchangeable parts look good as well, the pose is pretty much the same thing.  The only real change would be the hand in terms of style.  For an old trading figurine, this is quite big.  Trading figurines at that time were pretty small & it was quite rare for them to reach the 10cm mark.  Now for some details.

For an old ¥500 trading figurine, this is pretty good.  The dark yellow trimmings are painted okay even though there are some bleedings which make the crosses look out of shape a bit.  Although it looks like bleeding, I think it may be molding problems instead.  But the molding is actually well done for an old trading figurine.  You can see the creases on the gloves & outfit well.  Plus, the base is very nice with the concrete ground & empty bullet shells on there.  The problem with the detailing is mainly in the small stuff like the necklaces around Rosette's neck.

The facial work on Rosette's face is okay.  It's not great or bad.  It does resemble her anime version a bit.  The manga version is probably out of the question even though I haven't seen the manga before.  The etching job is clean with no bleeds.

Overall Conclusion

This DragonHeroines Selection Two Rosette Christopher is a pretty good trading figurine.  It's painted & detailed well.  Plus, the pose isn't too bad.  However, the assembly is quite a challenge even though I did some drilling to make the holes a bit bigger.  I have sold her away due to a lack of interest & I'm not a fan of Chrno Crusade.

Rating this Rosette trading figurine, I would give it an eight.  The workmanship is excellent in terms of the molding & paint job.  The main problem is assembling her  It's very tough & requires a fair amount of force to put the parts together.  It can be frustrating really.

If you are looking for this figurine, you need a lot of luck.  Since it has been out of production for a long time already & this is a trading figurine, it's best to look for it at online auctions.  But, I think you won't have a very easy time finding Rosette there.  I'm not sure what the collector's value of this trading figurine is, but I sold her for US$15 back in January 2007.
