Excellent Model Series: Rukia Kuchiki & Kon

Introduction

Rukia Kuchiki & Kon is part of the first wave of Mega House's Excellent Model Series for Bleach.  I pre-ordered this & the Ichigo Kurosaki figures online for a SUPER CHEAP price!  I believe this figurine was sold out after it was just released.  No doubt the popularity of the anime series help boast sales on this figurine.

Some of the pictures aren't clear & good.  If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them.

The Review

Rukia Kuchiki & Kon out of the box

The box was heavy, but the figurine was not.  The box is made of heavy cardboard probably to protect the figurine from transportation damage.  No assembly required for Rukia Kuchiki & Kon except putting them on the included display base.  The base has the Bleach logo & their names on it & it's nicely done.

Rukia's stance is quite good as she puts on that glove to turn Ichigo into a Death God.  Nothing strange on it as it looks natural.  Kon is actually poseable.  His head, arms, legs, & tail are movable thanks to ball joints.  Even though there is limitation on how you pose him, I think it's good enough at it is.  I paid the price for the large Rukia figurine, not the small Kon figure.

The panel line painting is nicely done.  It's very fine with no noticeable paint bleeding on the front & back of Rukia's uniform.  Her glove is nicely done.  That flaming skull is nicely etched in there.  Other than these, there's nothing really worth mentioning since it's a plain school uniform.  Let's look at the details on Kon's body now.

One sexy plushie!

The fine details on Kon's body isn't too bad.  There is some minor paint bleeding, but it's fair since he's just a bonus pretty much.  The panel lines are painted nicely & his claws & button look good.  His face isn't too bad.  It's quite cute actually.  Toys companies have made many variations of his face & they look like different Kons.  I like this one as it's pretty close to the anime version.  His facial expression is pretty good for a doll.  He's got that angry look, which kind of makes it cute.  Now for Rukia's face.

Prepare yourself!

Rukia's facial expression is good.  It does give that look that she is going to turn Ichigo into a Death God.  The paint job around the eyes is pretty weak. The black linings isn't solid at some parts.  Nevertheless, her face resembles a lot like the anime, especially the eyes, & gives that strict attitude she has.

Overall Conclusion

Rukia Kuchuki & Kon does live up with Mega House's Excellent Model Series name.  The workmanship is excellent even though there isn't a lot of details on the figurine.  I'm happy buying this figurine, even though I got an excellent deal for it.  Never put it back in the box once.

On a scale of ten, I give it a 9.5 due to the workmanship & Rukia's pose.  The lost half point is from the minor problems.

Although Rukia & Kon are sold out, the chances of finding it is a bit better than Ichigo from what I seen.  But, it doesn't change the fact that it's a hard find.  You may have to pay a premium for it.  Be aware that there is a bootlegged version of her in the market.

9.5?!?!?!?!  Make it a ten or else I'll beat you into a pulp!!!!
