PSP Bleach: Heat the Soul Kon Strap

Introduction

Kon (aka King of New York): you either love him or hate him.  Me: I like him, but not as crazy as some of his fans.  This Kon strap was not for sale & was used as a promotional item to sell the Bleach: Heat the Soul PSP game as an initial press item release.  I believe this strap was issued out in limited quantities.

The Review

Kon in a bag!

This is how the strap came when I purchased the PSP game.  Although the packaging isn't appealing, the strap was well protected.  Since this was a promo item, the materials of this strap isn't that good.  The whole thing is made of PVC, except for the string & chain.

Ya-hoo!

Kon is well made.  Even if you look at it closely, it's actually pretty good for a promo item.  The paint job is good & looks like orange chrome paint was used since it's a bit shiny.  Now, let's look at the strap part.

OMG!  Rukia's drawings!

As mentioned before, it's made of PVC.  Normal straps during its time are usually made of rubber.  One side of the strap has the Playstation logo on the left & the Bleach: Heat the Soul logo.  The extra plastic on it makes it hard to see in the pic.  The other side has the word "LOADING" with some of Rukia's famous drawings on top of each letter.  The labels are stickers placed on the strap.

Overall Conclusion

The Kon strap is actually pretty good as a promo item.  I find the Kon figure to be cute.  I won't be taking Kon out since there's actually another one in the house that belongs to my sister.  She had put her's on her old cell phone before & it looks nice.  It's not that small as I thought it would be & the size is just right for a flip phone.  It's pretty solid too.  But it should be used for your PSP really.

I give this Kon strap a 8/10.  What made me give it this score was the materials used to make it, it's size, & the cute Kon figure at the end.  I went easy on the scoring system since this was a promo item & I didn't really expect it to be of high quality.  It would have been a lot  worse if it was an actual strap you can buy off the shelf & sold around the ¥600 mark or above.

Chances of find this strap now may be slim since it was probably a limited first release promo item with the PSP game.  I have seen it for sale on eBay in the past.  I don't expect the price of this Kon strap to be high even though it is a promo item.
