Introduction I got these from J-Hobby, when the owner managed to find a gashapon supplier in Japan. Ever since I saw these in the net as previews, I wanted them. I didn't buy them at the release month though. It took me some time to find them really. I nearly gave up after two months before I got them. This is a brief review of the product. It's still sealed in the set bag. Some of the pictures aren't clear & good. If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them. |

The Review
There are six figures in this gashapon set. They are Ringo Nayamano, SukuMi Kamen, Akito, Agito, Simca, & Ikki Minami. If you have seen pics of the gashapon figures, you should know that Akito & Agito are the same figure with different faces & positioning of the eye patch. Let's look at some of the brief detailing of the gashapons. Nothing much to see really since all the figure pieces are mixed in that bag. From the looks of it, it's pretty decent. Looking at Ringo's face, it's not too bad. The etching is clean & truthfully to the anime character design. The design on the pants of Ringo is etched cleanly as well. No bleeds at the moment. |

Overall Conclusion AIR GEAR Gashapon Part 1 is an interesting set, judging from the pics only. The poses have a mixture of static & kinetic ones. Also, the female figurines are quite sexy. I'm thinking of getting a display case for them. I can't really grade the AIR GEAR Gashapon Part 1 set. Although the paint & molding job looks good based on what I'm seeing in that sealed packaging, I shouldn't judge in on that alone. I don't know how well the pieces fit together & if they can manage to stand put without problems. If you really want to get this gashapon set, search hard. They have been discounted when part 2 was released. However, the market price for part 1 isn't high. So if you manage to find a set, you would most likely be able to get them at below Japanese suggested retail prices. |
