This book covers the TV anime show.  As the title suggests, it's a fanbook.  To be more accurate, a guide book.  It covers the TV episodes, artwork of the character designs & backgrounds, interviews with the seiyus & TV staff, & covering a line of merchandises for the series.  Because of this, the book is heavily text based.  Of course, there are some illustrations here & there to make it enjoyable for people with no Japanese language knowledge.  Aside from the original creator, Itou Noiji, there are some fan artworks as well.  The ones by Itou are reproductions from her manga covers, magazine ads, etc.  So there's really nothing new here.  Although I do like the animation drawings, I didn't like some of the artwork.  Some of them are Mikuru getting sexually harassed by Haruhi & the drawing styles of some the fan arts.  This is my personal opinion.

If you are a fan of the Haruhi Suzumiya series, particularly to the anime, this is a nice book to get for your collection.  This is a great book to keep track of all the Haruhi Suzumiya products that had & were coming out during the time of the book's publication.
