American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of  2009
Since early February BCATS has been working with the local road agencies and Battle Creek Transit  to identify projects to utilize Federal funds made available for transportation improvements in the BCATS area through the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009"  (ARRA).  Any work to be completed with ARRA funds, as Federal-aid projects, must be represented in BCATS' Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).  BCATS is amending its FY 2008-2011 TIP in March, 2009 to add the selected ARRA-funded projects, along with several other project additions & modifications, to support prompt implementation of the projects in accordance with the intent of the ARRA as an "economic stimulus" program.

Click
here for the March 7, 2009 public notice in the Battle Creek Enquirer that announces the TIP amendment, outlines the projects in the amendment, and lists the opportunities & means for public comment.  For more details as the amendment proceeds, check back at this website or contact BCATS at 269/963-1158, e-mail [email protected].
