The Vege I
"I personally am happier this way. I feel spiritually "clean"...And I was thinking, the only reason why I ever used to eat meat before, was simply because I was brought up that way. I never thought about it. Turning vegeterian, being one of the only vegeterians you know, is like swimming against the tide all of a sudden. And when I realized that eating meat is not how I want to live each day, it made me wonder what else I was doing without thinking about it.
Turning vegeterian also helped me identify myself. It made me think about
who I am & how I want to be. It challenged my (other) beliefs. I dont want the things in my life to happen "by accident". I want to help put them in there."
THE INTERVIEW
questions asked by Julia Brueck, all complaints go to her
(I can give you her email address!!)

The day you decided to be a vegetarian - what did you stomach say to that??

It was more passive than anything else. It was mainly my head who would start screaming alerts whenever meat passed before my eyes. Constantly: MEAT!!!!!!!!!!! MEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OVER THERE!!!!!!! AND THERE!!!!!!!!!!

Are you happy that there's no meat in chocolate?

I thanked all the gods in every religion.

What would you do if there were meat in chocolate?

I would go to the top of a very high building, scream, and throw things off.

Do you like the word "meat"?

No... It's so raw and bloody.

What was the first thing your mother said when you told her?

She gave me A Look, turned, and walked away. I was a bit disappointed.

Did your decision make you feel freed?

No, that took some time. I was first a vegetarian by meals, then I was a vegetarian by heart and soul.

Didn't you have the feeling, you're missing out on something?

*evil grin*

What would have to happen, to make you eat meat again?

*thinks long and hard*
I'd probably have to turn into a shark!

Why do you eat cheese and milk?

Because I don't see anything wrong with eating it. It's like not drinking water from a river. And it's healthy, my body needs it. My body has a hard enough time without all those nameless vitamins in meat & fish. And I like cheese! I see it as a present from cows. :-)

Have you ever dreamt of meat?

Yeah, I remember something vagely... It was a horrible dream, all grilled and disgusting. It was just meat in its normal form, some people might see it as apetizing and wake up hungry. But for me, it was plain horrible.

What do you think of people who eat meat?

I have to respect that, if I want people to respect my not eating meat. I don't think they really know what they're doing, but it's okay. If they like.
