Now Read the words to Yankee Doodle:
Verse:
Father and I went down to camp
Along with Captain Gooding
And there we saw the men and boys
As thick as hasty pudding.
Chorus:
Yankee doodle, keep it up
Yankee doodle dandy
Mind the music and the step
And with the girls be handy.
The verse is the A section
of the song while the chorus is the B section.
Follow the words while you listen to the song. The verse is at the beginning of the song so we call it the A section. Notice how the music changes on the chorus. It sounds different. That is why it is called the B section.

On your notebook paper write down what you hear in the complete song using the letters A & B

Are you ready for the big test?
This time you will not hear the
A & B sections separately. Listen to both songs and write down
what your hear. Hint: sometimes the
letters are repeated.
Keep going. You're almost
done. Only one more thing's left to do. On the drawing paper
choose a picture or design for your A section. Then choose a picture
or design for your B section. Draw your picture in place of the letters
to show the form. Draw one song on the front and the other on the
back.
Congratulations! You are now an
official musical form diagrammer!
