| - Is Jake Peavy already "here" at the tender age of 22? He's 3-0 with a 2.65 ERA after three starts. | |
| - I thought that Hiram Bithorn Stadium was supposed to have a "Coors" like effect. Over six games, the Expos and visitors have averaged a mere 5.5 runs combined per game.

| - Wasn't Danny Graves supposed to be this year's Derek Lowe? With a 8.62 ERA and 2.11 WHIP he may be on his way back to the bullpen. In four starts last year, he did go 1-0 with a 1.89 ERA. Scott Williamson owners should keep a close eye on this situation.

- Look at the lines from Pedro Martinez and Randy Johnson's last start. Eerily similar:
Pedro Martinez 4 1/3 IP 9 H 10 ER
Randy Johnson 4 2/3 IP 10 H 10 ER

| - Why do Colorado pitchers always tease us? Nelson Cruz is 3-0 with a 2.16 ERA and 0.90 WHIP while Shawn Chacon is 2-0 with a 1.31 ERA and 0.92 WHIP. Don't worry, it's only a matter of time before they have nice Coors pitching numbers. Denny Stark, John Thomson and Jason Jennings all had nice stretches last year to lure us in. |
| - Why is Kansas City 11-3? This is pretty much the same team that went 62-100 last year. Mike MacDougal has 7 saves to lead the majors, Brent Mayne leads the majors with a .486 average and Runelvys Hernandez has a 0.45 ERA, good enough to lead the majors. Something to note: Every team since 1998 that has lead the Cactus league in victories has ended up in the playoffs. The Royals pulled the trick in the spring with 19 victories.

| - In his second start of the season, Mark Prior pitched his first complete game shutout against the Expos. It's a good thing that he only threw 113 pitches, wouldn't want his talented arm to fall off.
| - From the out of no-where department, I recall Albert Pujols' first major league season. He wasn't even supposed to make the team and wasn't even a great prospect yet had a .329-37-130 rookie season at the age of 21. It's scary to think how much he can still improve because he is so young.

| - The Marlins lead the majors in stolen bases with 20 followed by the Rockies with 14.
| - Hee Seop Choi should be a candidate for this year's Rookie of the Year award. He's got 4 HR already with a whopping 15 BB in 32 AB.
| - What's up with Lance Berkman? This strong first half performer is starting off uncharacteristically slow (.229-1-3). |
