Donna is Josh Lyman's trustworthy and capable assistant. She dropped out of the University of Wisconsin after two years to put her boyfriend through school, only to be dumped later. Donna keeps a diary to record her White House experiences, as well as her dating disasters. She was recently shocked to discover that she is a Canadian, not American, citizen due to a U.S. state boundary change.
