Guide to Barra de Navidad , Jalisco, México

Since ancient times, man has been fascinated with the ocean.  We are drawn to it by it's beautiful waters, the force of its waves and the mysteries of its depths.

Along the Mexican pacific coast , there are numerous tropical beaches.

These beaches are hidden treasures that are indescribable.

Costalegre is a chain of intact and tranquil beaches along the side of the pacific coast of Jalisco Mexico. With a climate similar to that of Hawaii's.

Costalegre also has another rich hidden treasure , which is it's wildlife.

It's a tropical paradise who's habitat is similar to that of the majestic Sierra Madre.

Centuries ago, these bays and isolated lagoons were a refuge for pirates and buccaneers. In its old age, it still remains the same, from when the Spanish brought there ships to these waters for the first time in 1528. Just 36 years after  that Columbus discovered America.

There are three ways to get here by land:

1. On highway 80, which is from Guadalajara to Barra de Navidad. It is a 4-hour drive going southeast.  Passing a number of small cities and towns.

As well as mountains and rivers.

2. The second route is on highway 200, which borders the southern part of the state.  This route takes you past a variety of fascinating beaches. In a section of only 60 miles you can visit Barra de Navidad all the way to Alamandas, which is in the northeast, touching beaches of incomparable beauty.

3. The third route is on highway 55, which is by Guadalajara, Ciudad Guzman, Colima, Manzanillo, Cihuatlan and Barra de Navidad.

That is about a 3-hour drive.
