| The George Baker
memorial trophy was awarded for the first time in 1997. It was decided by the band
that this trophy be awarded for the most improved young player due to
George's great involvement with teaching many bandsmen.
Thus the David Baker memorial trophy which was previously awarded for the most improved / committed young player, will now be awarded for Bandsman of the Year, as denoted in red. The David Baker memorial trophy was donated to the band by Mr. & Mrs. M. Lucas in honour of Mrs. Judy Lucas' father David Baker who played with the band for many many years. |
