Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913, in Tuskegee, Alamaba. Her parents separated when Rosa was still a young child, in which she moved to Montgomery to live with her mother. Since she lived when there was segregation present, Rosa Parks would try to boycot. The Jim Crow laws for bus transportation were very prohibiting. However, on December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks was extremely tired and wanted to find herself a seat on bus. When a white man entered the bus and demanded a seat, Rosa Parks refused to get up and leave. The bus driver threatened to call the police, and yet Rosa still would not budge. She was brought to the police station and later jailed. At this point, the Civil Rights Movement reached its highest peak. The black community boycotted the bus transportation and would walk to work and church for a period of 381 days. This brought an end to the Jim Crow Laws and led to the modern-day Black Freedom, which made Rosa Parks a living legend. Unfortunately, she died on Ocotber 24, 2005.
