STOLAS

Stolas, also known as Stolos, is a demon, recognized as a prince among their kind and is the 36th recorded spirit in the sacred Ars Goetia.

Stolas is a professor of the natural world, teaching the qualities of herbs, precious stones, identifying astrological bodies, and several other studies, as well as instructing the ancient techniques of which to use them. They apply this knowledge to teach one to deepen their connection to nature and the Earth, and even to understand the significance in which demons correlate to nature. They command a court of around 156,000 demons.

Their common look is that of a great screech owl, capable of a size anywhere between an average bird of it's size to larger than a man, with the long wading legs of a stork or egret. They may also take the form of a raven or a cloaked humanoid. A crown is perched atop their head to signify their status amongst demons, and they are often perfectly silent, staring intensely at whatever may assume their focus.

Like a shrewd mentor, they seek a good impression out of those under their service, ever observant of the world around them and of potential pupils. They have a legitimate respect for the spheres in which they work and are willing to converse of many things if they deem it worthy of their presence, with a particular fondness for stone formations and the undiscovered applications for herbalism. All birds, especially owls, are sacred to Stolas.
