PURSON

Purson is a demon, recognized as a king among their kind and is the 20th recorded spirit in the sacred Ars Goetia.

Purson is a wonderful, charismatic spirit of fashionable knowledge, truly learned in the ways of demons and more than capable of enlightening oneself to a better understanding of their nature. They are skilled in the art of Divination, and will provide answers truthfully and perfectly to questions regarding such matters, particularly the history and secrets of the Earth. Their assistance may aid in facilitating relationships and study with other demons, discovering hidden places and treasures, and providing good familiars unto the recipient. They command a court of around 132,000 demons.

Confusion lies around the identity of this subject, as they are often correlated to another supposed demon, Pruflas, who is not present in the Ars Goetia but is cited scarcely amongst those who derived insight from within it. This is likely a mistake, as these two names (that of Purson and Pruflas) are often replaced with one another in different works with the former having the more reliable and uniform portfolio. Great trumpets sound around their arrival, either from the air or rarely played by the spirit themself, and creatures of the woodlands will reveal themselves to surround their presence. They appear as a chimera between humanoid and lion, gifted with a comely look and wielding a cruel, spitting viper, riding naked upon a massive bear.

Any wishing to become more familiar with the demon race ought to consider an alliance with Purson, as they are well acquantinced with the most powerful of their kin. They are very much an entity of learning, and work to teach the inhabitants of Earth as to the insights of their kin so that such a spiritual relationship may be strengthened. Bears and serpents are both sacred to Purson.
