Kris's Review

The duo known as The White Stripes is back and they are better than ever. The new album, Elephant, was recorded in a two-week period in London.

The technology to record this album is technology rarely used in the music industry these days. There was no mixing of songs, and no computers were used in the production. The technology used predates what the Beatles were using when they came out, which I must say is pretty neat. This is one of the reasons I love this album

This album is truly amazing. I wasn’t a huge fan of The White Stripes until I bought this album, and I only bought the album because two of my friends were and it was 9.99 the week it came out. I don’t have any of their albums, but after listening to this one, I may have to go get the others.

There isn’t a song on this album that I don’t like. They all have extremely catchy beats, and the guitar riffs are pretty cool. Meg is able to bang on her drum when she needs to, but she can also cut down to emphasize Jack’s guitar and lyrics. Meg sings track 5, which is one of my favorite tracks because there is only guitar and her voice, which makes the track sound real. My other favorite song is the very last song on the album.Track 14 has a guest artist singing with Meg and Jack. The guest singer is Miss Holly Golightly. Holly has a voice that compliments Jack and Meg’s voices.

All three of them sing this one, and I think it is the perfect song to end the album. This album the best I have bought all year, actually it’s probably the best one I have bought since Bruce Springsteen’s The Rising. If you are even a minor White Stripes fan, you need to buy this album.
