WHO'S AFRAID? Alex Cross battles the most ruthless and powerful killer he has ever encountered-a predator known only as the Wolf.
Alex Cross's first case since joining the FBI has his new colleagues stymied. Across the country, men and women are being kidnapped in broad daylight and then disappearing completely. These people are not being taken for ransom, Alex realizes. They are being bought and sold. And it looks like a shadowy figure known as the Wolf-a master criminal who has brought a new reign of terror to organized crime-is behind this business in which ordinary men and women are sold as slaves.
YOU'RE AFRAID.
Even as he admires the FBI's vast resources, Alex grows impatient with the Bureau's clumsiness and caution when it is time to move. A lone wolf himself, he has to go out on his own in order to track the Wolf and try to rescue some of the victims while they are still alive.
As the case boils over, Alex is in hot water at home too. His ex-fiancée, Christine Johnson, comes back into his life-and not for the reasons Alex might have hoped.

This is the third review I have written for a James Patterson novel. That must tell you how much I love James Patterson. As I have said in previous reviews, I own all of J.P.’s books. I get them almost as soon as they are out because I love reading his novels. The Big Bad Wolf is no exception.
This is another Alex Cross novel. This is either the eighth or ninth Alex Cross novel that James Patterson has written. I would urge you to read the Alex Cross novels in the order they were written. It’s not a big deal if you do read them out of order, because most of the novels don’t cross over into the next one. There are small details in the books that do cross over, and you won’t understand the history that Cross has with some of the characters. That is why I recommend that you read them in order, so you understand the timeline and history of Alex Cross.
This is a wonderfully told story, and I can guarantee there will be a sequel to it. That is all I will tell you about it, because you deserve to discover it yourself. The plot is great, as all J.P. novels are and it is slightly twisted. The bad guy is a very tough bad guy, and I kind of like him, even though I don’t know too much about him. The end has a little twist, and I really like that about this book. It makes it that much more fun.
Definitely pick up this book if you like James Patterson. Or if you liked the movie rendition of a few of his books, "Kiss The Girls" and "Along Came A Spider." J.P is coming out with another book in March, so look forward to that review as soon as that book comes out. Have fun with this book, as I’m sure you will enjoy it.
