Have you ever heard the Billy Joel song "We Didn’t Start the Fire?" If you have heard the song, and actually listened to the lyrics, you may have heard the part where he mentions this book. That is one of the reasons that I wanted to read this book. I finally was able to read it, and I’m glad I did so.
I love reading Science Fiction, which probably makes me a geek. I enjoyed reading this book. It took me a while to read it, but once I got into it, I liked it. Heinlein is such an amazing storyteller; he’s just so captivating in the way he writes. It’s a wonderful style to read.
The thing I liked most about Stranger in a Strange Land is the way the characters transform. Every character in the book changes in some way, and that is an interesting progression to see. The Man From Mars is the one who perhaps changes the most, but he is also the reason for all of the transformations everyone has. He brings peace to everyone he meets. He teaches them to grok, and how to be kind to each other, and how to love each other.
The story is wonderful, and if you pay attention you may be able to learn something about life. I loved reading this book, and anyone who likes science fiction would love it as well. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants something interesting to read.
