Description

Action/Adventure, Science Fiction/Fantasy and Drama 3 hrs. 30 min. The Fellowship's journey is coming to an end. Sauron's forces have attacked Gondor's capital of Minas Tirith in his final siege against mankind. Watched over by a fading steward, the once great kingdom has never been in more desperate need of its king. But will Aragorn find the strength to become what he was born to be and rise to meet his destiny? As Gandalf desperately tries to move the broken forces of Gondor to act, Théoden unites the warriors of Rohan to join in the fight. Even in their courage and passionate loyalty, the forces of men – with Éowyn and Merry hidden among them – are no match against the swarming legions of enemies raining down on the kingdom. With each victory comes great sacrifice. Despite their great losses, The Fellowship charges forward in the greatest battle of their lifetime, united in their singular goal to give Frodo a chance to complete his quest. Traveling across treacherous enemy lands, Frodo must rely increasingly on Sam and Gollum as The Ring continues to test his allegiance and, ultimately, his soul.

Kris's Review

I am a huge fan of Lord of the Rings. Not only the movies, but the books as well. Every time I see the movies, I end up comparing them to the books. I love the movies as much as I love the books. The third installment of the Lord of the Rings trilogy is no exception. This movie is amazing. I have seen it twice already, and I cannot wait to see it again.

Visually, the film is stunning. The scenery is gorgeous, as it was filmed in New Zealand. It’s green and lush when it needs to be, and dead and brown at other times. It’s so hard to describe how visually amazing it actually is. If you have seen it, then you know what I’m talking about.

The acting of every actor in this third film seems to be even better than the other two films. Sean Astin puts together a wonderful performance, and may be up for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. Elijah Wood portrays the pain of Frodo marvelously, but some may see it as over the top. Viggo Mortensen makes a wonderful King, and Ian McKellan makes a wonderful warrior. The rest of the cast adds so much to the film, and I can’t even begin to describe what they add because this would get very long.

This is a must see film. If you have seen the other two, then I’m sure you’ve probably seen this one as well. If you haven’t, what are you waiting for? Go see it. Right Now! Get moving. You can surf the web later.
