I am not a big fan of teenybopper movies. I find that they usually end up poking fun at the audience, and I don’t like it when movies do that because it sort of insults my intelligence. That’s what I was expecting when I first saw previews for this movie. What made me go see it?
Well, I saw Tina Fey on Conan O’Brien the day before it was released, and found out that she wrote the screenplay for it. I love Tina Fey, so I decided that I would see this one. I’m glad I took that flying leap.
This isn’t the normal teenybopper movie. Right at the beginning it starts out with a bang, and it keeps going. This movie had me laughing all the way through. There are some extremely humorous parts in it, but there are also some not so funny parts. The movie has a really nice message, and it throws it right in our faces, which may or may not be a good thing. Tina Fey has a small role, in which she plays a teacher who is sort of a dork. A few other Saturday Night Live cast members, former and current, also have small parts in the movie. Everyone in the film does a great job in their roles. It’s almost as if some of the roles came naturally to the actors and actresses. That is one of the things I liked best about the movie.
Something I loved about this movie is that it made me think back to my high school days. It made me think about the socialization of high school, and it almost made me glad that my high school wasn’t as bad as the one in the movie. The school in this movie is pretty messed up, which of course adds to the humor. There are so many cliques in this movie, and I’m pretty sure my high school didn’t have that.
This is definitely a movie to see if you want to have fun and if you want see something that will make you laugh for quite a while. It might make you think about your life in high school, and how you treated others back then. That’s always fun.
