Becca's Review

Let's start with the fact that I had to be pursued to keep watching this show. The first two epsiodes I was lost, confused, and bored out of my mind. So after some time I was convinced to watch the next episode, and to my surprise it was starting to get decent. Please note I said decent not good nor great. I did eventually start to care for the characters, however when one of them dies later on I didn't shed any tears. The story was orginal to a point, and the love between the elf and the warrior (yeah I forgot their names sue me, right on the tip of my tongue) wasn't forced at all, it grew from the begining and by the end it wasn't at all complete. I did enjoy that much about it... yeah that's right I'm a girl and I like love stories.

However, I did feel the love between the wizard and the priestess was so forced, that it made me want to.... Ahem, it was pretty bad. By the end of the 18th episode (18? right?) I watched I had become addicted and I can not wait to watch what is to come. This series is well done and thought out, although it doesn't have the surprise aspect that I enjoy, I found myself waiting intently for the villian (who I knew was the villian) to be unveiled.

Jeff's Review

To tell you the truth, I was the one who "pursued" the beckster to watch this show (just wanted to get that out of the way). Now for the review. I am a very big fan of The Lord of the Rings, and lately I have been trying to find other movie types like it, with medieval action, swordplay, and magic. However you will find little to no movies like that in the United States, its almost a taboo here to think there could be magic, or even imagine there is (oh no! hide the children!). The closest thing I found was quite a bit of anime with this theme. Ok, on to the review...really this time.

I found this show to be very "entertaining," I say that because really, thats all it was. The story was the same old thing you could read in any fantasy novel. Not a whole lot of new broken ground in any way, so it was the same formulated stuff that works (which is fine for entertainment sake). All the characters were very typical to the race: the gruff and surly dwarf, the flighty almost airheaded elf, the wise mage, the sly and quick thief...all the genres cliches came out in this one. Since it is a tv show, you really want to spread out the shows over some time. You may find yourself getting a little bored if you sit and watch episodes 1-12 in one day.

The greatest thing about this show is its complete melodramaticism (I think thats a word). Its like such silly drama, like, will Parn really become a soldier (dum dum dum).

All in all its entertainment, and thats all I was expecting. If you have some time to invest into this show, it probably be worth a couple hours on a boring afternoon.
