I am a huge fan of Incubus and I was able to catch them in concert on their Morning View tour. I own four of their albums; S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Make Yourself, Morning View, and A Crow Left of the Murder. I really liked their two latest albums before A Crow Left of the Murder and I expected good things from their newest release.
I heard the first single from the new album, Megalomaniac, on MTV. I wasn’t sure if I liked the song at first, but I gave it a chance and I grew to enjoy it. It seems to be a bit darker song than any of their previous work. When I actually listened to it, I decided that it is a fairly political song and it makes you think, which is something I enjoy when I listen to music.
All of the tracks off of this album are very catchy. Some of the tracks may seem to be a little repetitive once you get to number ten, but they are still catchy and worth a listen. The tracks seem to flow nicely together, and I enjoy the guitar parts on most of the songs. My favorite songs off the album are "Talk Show on Mute," "Megalomaniac," and "Pistola."
If you are even a mild Incubus fan you should enjoy this album. It sounds a bit different than their other stuff, but the sound of Incubus evolves with each new album. This is definitely worthy of a listen, and perhaps a bit more. Enjoy!
