This is one of the most touching movies I have seen in a very long time. This may be more touching than Big Fish, however, I did not cry when I saw In America. My friends and I went to the movie theater, and we were going to see something, but we got there after most of the movies had started. We really wanted to see a movie, so it was between this one and three other movies made for teenagers, so we chose this one. None of us knew anything at all about this film when we saw it. Personally, I think that was a good thing because none of us had any expectations for it, and we let the movie consume us. This is probably one of the best experiences I have had at a movie theater.
This is a movie made for mature audiences, not for teenagers who don’t understand movies. If you want a movie you don’t want to really pay attention to, go see The Butterfly Effect or something along those lines. This is a beautiful, mature movie, and that is wonderful. I loved every aspect of this film. The beginning scene is awe-some. When the family drives into New York City, the way this is filmed is magical. They are driving through Times Square, and they are trying to take everything in at the same time, and the filming shows this. Everything is scattered and at an angle. It is just beautiful. That is probably my favorite scene because it made me feel like I was in New York again, and that was a great feeling.
The family meets so many interesting characters, and the family is one big interesting character in itself. I loved seeing the transformation all of the characters made in this movie. There is an extremely touching scene in the film, and many people have said they cried during this scene. One of the daughters is on stage, performing the song "Desperado." This scene is so beautiful and it gave me the chills.
I think everyone should see this movie. It is just so wonderful and touching. I don’t think I have seen a movie quite like it. Please go see it. I think you will be amazed at the beauty of it.
