As his fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry approaches, 15-year-old Harry Potter is in full-blown adolescence, complete with regular outbursts of rage, a nearly debilitating crush, and the blooming of a powerful sense of rebellion. It's been yet another infuriating and boring summer with the despicable Dursleys, this time with minimal contact from our hero's non-Muggle friends from school. Harry is feeling especially edgy at the lack of news from the magic world, wondering when the freshly revived evil Lord Voldemort will strike. Returning to Hogwarts will be a relief... or will it?

The first thought that popped into my head when I finished this book was "when does the sixth one come out?" I have to admit that I am a huge Harry Potter fan; some would say that I am a fanatic. I am such a fanatic that I bought this book at midnight the day it came out, so I could start reading it immediately. I think the reason why I love all the Harry Potter books is because I can see them in my mind. When I saw the first movie it was as if I had already seen the movie, because everything inthe movie looked exactly as I pictured in the book.I like this book a lot. It took me a day to read because it is over a hundred pages longer than the fourth book. I know I need to read it again, so I can get a better picture of everything in my mind. It is quite action packed in the last one hundred pages or so, and I was reading it really fast so I knew what was going to happen. There are some parts that are slightly confusing if you read it too fast, but those are the best parts. I must also say that this is a sad book. I do not cry during movies, and especially not while regarding books. However, I did cry when reading this book. There is one part that is very sad, and I just want to give the characters hugs. One of the new characters really pissed me off. I think most Harry Potter fans will agree that Dolores Umbridge makes them angry also. I wanted her to be a real person so I could hunt her down and punch her in the head. She is so mean to the students and extremely rude to other professors. There are a few other new characters, but none of them really bother me. I rather like Luna Lovegood, although some people may think she is annoying. I think she is hilarious. She is a little strange, and her nickname is Looney Lovegood. There are so many things I want to tell you about this book, but if you haven’t read it, I don’t want to ruin anything for you. I would like to tell you what happens to Harry, and what happens to Ron, and what Fred and George get themselves into, but I cannot. I would like you to be surprised when you read this book. I want you to enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed reading it. If you have read any of the other Harry Potter books, you must read this one. If you have never read them, you should. These are not books just written for little kids. People of all ages can read these books, and enjoy them.
