Description

A scuba diver takes Nemo, and his father travels the ocean to find him. On the journey, Nemo’s father, Marlin, meets Dorri, a fish with short-term memory loss. Dorri sticks with Marlin through the entire journey. They run into some sharks, an electric eel, jellyfish, sea turtles, and a whale, to name a few. While Marlin is trying to find him, Nemo is told he is going to be given to the scuba diver’s niece, who is a fish killer. Nemo and the other fish in the tank try to devise a plan to help Nemo escape from the fish tank.

Becca's Review

This movie is nothing but good wholesome fun, and everyone can enjoy that. I love these types of movies because they are not just made for children. They have jokes in them that only the older "children" can understand, when I say older I mean 18 plus. It's a mix for every age, and completely a wonderful story.

Pixar just has one hit another enough, and they are worth every penny to see. Each character in this movie is unique, fun, and someone you can love. Dorri is the most hilarious character I have ever seen, and this movie couldn't have been without her in it. Ellen DeGeneres was the perfect voice for her. This is a great movie for children of all ages from 1 to 100, no matter what kind of humor you have you will have to love this movie.

Joe's Review

Finding Nemo is another great film from the folks at Pixar but not their best work. The visuals are the best that have ever been seen in an animated film, that is for sure, but the story is not as hilarious as Monsters Inc. was or even Toy Story 2. The story also tends to drag a bit in parts which makes it quite inconsistent.

Finding Nemo also seemed to have a lot more intense scenes then most films aimed toward children, which is better for the older crowd but is sure to frighten some children. Speaking of those frightening moments, it was quite disappointing that there weren’t that scenes involving the sharks who become vegetarians. The scenes that were shown with them were mostly seen in the trailers and they do not reappear until the end of the film, which was somewhat confusing as to why they would appear at the end. But the spectacular visuals, the delightful characters and those Pixar tributes to famous films (including The Shining and Psycho) make this a must-see anyway.

The messages expressed in Finding Nemo may feel a little tacky and too heart-warming but they work. Pixar films are the few films out there that actually have people on the verge of crying and teach them something about life. The best family film to date and looks to be for quite some time with lack-luster fare like Rugrats Go Wild and Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas cluttering the movie theater in the next month or so.

Kris's Review

This is another hit for Pixar. I love all of the Pixar movies I have ever seen, and this is one of the best. Although, it is very hardto top Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bugs Life, and Monster’s Inc. If you look closely in a few of the scenes, you can see a few characters from other Pixar films, such as a Woody doll in the dentist’s office.

Dorri is the funniest Pixar character. She is a fish with short-term memory loss, and it so funny when she keeps asking who Marlin is, and especially when she is speaking whale. The cutest character in this film is Squirt, who is a baby turtle. He makes me want to own a turtle. I also liked the Gill character, voiced by Willem Dafoe. He is a tough fish, buthe is nice enough to help Nemo escape.

I didn’t really want to see Finding Nemo, but I am very glad I did. The trailers make it look like a cheesy animated film made for kids, but that isn’t really true. There are some references for adults, which are pretty funny. I laughed so hard during the whole thing, especially at Dorri and at the sea turtles. If you liked Toy Story, Monster’s Inc or A Bug’s Life, definitely see this because you will enjoy it.
