Remember a few years ago when there was this song called “Yellow” playing on the radio all the time? I’ll tell you in case you didn’t already know or figure it out, but that song was done by Coldplay.
This is the follow up to their first album, Parachutes. I haven’t listened to Parachutes too many times, because I don’t own that one. What I have heard of it however, is decent. This is a wonderful album, and I could listen to it everyday if I didn’t have other things to do.
This is such a mellow album that it can just play in the background, and I would never even notice. Trust me, that is not a bad thing. It’s great music to study to if you want to study, but if you want to notice it, you definitely can. All of the tracks flow so nicely together, and that just makes it mellower.
Even though the tracks flow with each other, they all have a different sound. My favorite track is The Scientist. I think I love the song so much because I have seen the video, and it is so powerful. Every time I hear the song, I can see the video and that makes the song even better. I also like the tracks Clocks and Warning Sign. Those are the other two songs most people would know, and they are great songs. The rest of the tracks on the album are also wonderful, and hopefully a few of them will be singles someday.
This is a must for anyone who likes mellow rock. If you like bands such as Oasis or Sam Roberts, then you will probably like this album. I would recommend if you get a chance to hear this album that you do. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
