Let's start with what I didn't like about this movie, and progress from there. Saya had complete lack of character, she didn't seem to have any feelings, or past. Had they just gave you a glimpse of what she had been through and to know why she was doing what she was, it would of made you care for her a great deal more. Not to say that she wasn't completely kick @$$, because she was. I just didn't care about her to much, I cared more for the teacher.
Ok, ok, let's stop with the hating, and get to the love as Jeff likes to say to me. The orginality in the movie oozes from every pore, it was unlike many of the vampire anime on the market. The battle scenes were awesome, and the movie and plot was put together superbly. The translation was something to note, things made sense. Which I find sometimes it easier to watch a movie subbed then dubbed. I did feel a bit lost, but I think you are suppose to be with the teacher at the end more then Saya. All in all this movie is worth picking up next time you are at the video store.

Like Becca I really liked this movie, it had excellent action sequences, the story moved along very nicely, and the translation was fairly good. Unlike Becca however, I really liked Saya. Her personality fit her character: cold, emotionless, and devoid of most human traits. I felt this attitude for her was pretty accurate for her character, she's a vampire for gods sake. Secondly, I HATED the teacher. I found her very annoying and just completely clueless. From her shrill little cry, to her clueless attitude, she was very VERY irritating.
The animation in this movie is great. Its smooth and very precise and all the backgrounds are very detailed. Although most of the movie takes place on an army base and school (not a whole lot of details required), they made the most out of it using the small things to make everything look just right.
My only one big grudge with this one is its length. It is only 45 min. long, and I felt if another 45 min. were put in, it could have maybe gone into depth on Saya, and her background, and maybe make her a little less Mysterious.
All in all, it was a very good movie, and would recommend it if you like action, gore, with a good story.
