Al ver el entusiasmo que mostraban los integrantes del entonces "grupo de danza folklórica de la secundaria José Sosa Chávez", el Profr. Oscar Bringas tomó la decisión de formar un grupo independiente en el cual se buscaba resaltar el matiz del folklore mexicano (no un grupo con tendencias puramente tradicionales).
Este recién nacido grupo afrontó varios problemas al iniciarse como ballet, pero el más grave de todos los obstáculos fue el de la adquisición de los primeros vestuarios (los cuales fueron en un principio financiados por el propio director del ballet, los propios bailarines y en una pequeña parte, por la escuela José Sosa Chávez).
El primer programa realizado por los integrantes de este ballet se llamó "El estudiante baila en Sonora", presentado en el Auditorio Cívico del Estado con un número aproximado de 20 personas, surgiendo de aquí la idea de presentar un festival folklórico anualmente. En los años siguientes, Cubajii se dedicó a realizar investigaciones, a parte de las danzas ópatas, de los bailes sonorenses con la colaboración del Profr. Miguel García Madrid, siendo el primer ballet en realizarlo.
Posteriormente, en el año de 1988, se dio la participación del grupo en la obra del autor sonorense Profr. Manuel García Madrid, "El País de los Sisibutaris", participando principalmente en danzas ópatas que fueron adoptadas por el ballet y con ello, cambió su nombre Cubajii por el actual, Sehuáquit, para ver si cambiaba la suerte del ballet.
El Ballet Folklórico Sehuáquit en numerosas ocasiones ha sido seleccionado por diversas instituciones públicas y privadas para ser representados y es así, que ha realizado giras por escenarios estatales, nacionales e internacionales, siendo de todos ellos reconocido por la experiencia y el profesionalismo con que sus integrantes reflejan el alma y sentimiento de lo mexicano y de los sonorenses, en forma muy destacada, siendo así el único que se ha preocupado por rescatar y difundir el espíritu y tradiciones de Sonora.
El grupo esta constituido por jóvenes profesionistas, universitarios, bachiller y secundarianos, cuyas edades fluctúan entre los 13 y 35 años, conjugando novatez, experiencia y espíritu de logro, reflejado al mismo tiempo, una exclusiva imagen de dinamismo, gracia y belleza.
Suerte o no, el grupo poco a poco se fue dando a conocer además, el Profr. Oscar Bringas Muñoz se integró a la Asociación Nacional de Maestros de Danza Popular Mexicana con sede en Aguascalientes, de donde se empezaron a realizar intercambios culturales entre los maestros pertenecientes a la Asociación antes mencionada. Y es así como paso a paso Sehuáquit se ha ido abriendo camino en el arduo trabajo dancístico.
History
The Ballet Foklórico Sehuáquit (House of the Flowers, in Ópata language) was founded the 9 of February of 1980 with the name of “Cubajii” (Drum of Deer, in Yaqui language) by its present director and coreógrafo, Profr. Oscar Bringas Muñoz (withdrawn of the Academy of Mexican Dance of the Profr. Jaime Buentello Bazan, in Tepic, Nayarit), having like main objective spreading Mexican the dance and musical culture mainly between youth. For this aim, Sehuáquit at the moment cultivates an ample repertoire integrated by most representative of the national folklore and amplest and select in which it concerns the dance rescue, it dances and sonorense music. The Ballet initiated activities with a numerous group of enthusiastic young people of the secondary school “Jose Sosa Chávez” supported by the direction of the same one in charge of the Pofr. Casimiro Monge Valenzuela.
When seeing the enthusiasm which they showed the members of the then “group of folkloric dance of secondary Jose Sosa Chávez”, the Profr. Oscar Bringas made the decision to form an independent group in which he looked for to emphasize the shade of the Mexican folklore (not a group with purely traditional tendencies).
This new born group he confronted several problems when beginning like ballet, but most serious of all the obstacles he was the one of the acquisition of the first clothes (which at first were financed by the own director of the ballet, the own dancers and in a small part, by the school Jose Sosa Chávez).
The first program made by the members of this ballet was called “the student dances in Sonora”, presented in the Civic Audience of the State with an approximated number of 20 people, arising from here the idea to present a folkloric festival annually. In the following years, Cubajii was dedicated to make investigations, to part of the ópatas dances, the sonorenses dances with the collaboration of the Profr. Miguel Garcia Madrid, being the first ballet in making it.
Later, in the year of 1988, the participation of the group in the work of sonorense author Profr occurred. Manuel Garcia Madrid, “the Country of the Sisibutaris”, participating mainly in ópatas dances that were adopted by the ballet and with it, changed his name Cubajii by the present one, Sehuáquit, to see if was changed the luck of the ballet.
The Folkloric Ballet Sehuáquit in numerous occasions has been selected by diverse institutions public and privated to be represented and is thus, that have made tours by state scenes, national and international, being of all of them recognized by the experience and the professionalism whereupon its members reflect the soul and feeling of the Mexican and the sonorenses, in very outstanding form, being therefore the unique one that have worried to rescue and to spread to the spirit and traditions of Sonora.
The group is constituted by university, high school and elementary young people profesionistas, whose ages fluctuate between the 13 and 35 years, conjugating novatez, experience and spirit of achievement, reflected at the same time, an exclusive image of dynamism, grace and beauty.
Luck or no, the group little by little went away presenting in addition, the Profr. Oscar Bringas Muñoz integrated itself to the National Association of Teachers of Mexican Popular Dance with seat in Aguascalientes, of where they began to make cultural interchanges between the teachers pertaining to the Association before mentioned. And it is as well as step by step Sehuáquit has been laid way in the arduous dance work.
